I wish I lived in NY now. I'd go and buy a couple thousand white and black t-shirts, print some stupid anti Wall Street shit on them and sell them for a few bucks. I think it could be good business.

LOL...good one!  Captialism at work!   ;D

Some good points on that page.
Walking through the shopping malls, I see a lot of stressed, materialistic obsessed and unhappy folks. Esp, they should ask themselves those happiness questions.

I live in South Florida, and maybe it is different in NYC or wherever, but I've yet to see a Hispanic hobo.(Hobo is a hilarious word)  They are either white or black.  Why?  Because hispanics......freakin'........WORK.  Perhaps some of these protesters should go pick some beans or cut some lawns to pocket a bit of money instead of shitting and pissing on sidewalks.

but my rational must acknowledge the need for some regulation in the interest of the public mental and physical health, and in the interest of having a functional economy that isn't dominated by monopolies.

I think most would agree w/you here.

We need some regulation, but do you see that over regulation kills companies and jobs?

Would you please answer this?  I'm not trying to set you up or anything, I am genuinely interested in your answer or the answer of people that say they hate corporations.
What do you mean by "methods?"

What type of method(s) would be acceptable to you/them?

Pretty stupid picture.  Corporations have monopolized much of what we consume leaving people without choice and without freedom.  The two things a 'free market' is suppose to provide.

We don't have a true "Free Market", our government, the tax code, the Fed and big money have seen to that being done away with.

Dude I'm studying industrial engineering I get the shit better than most capitalist, the problem is everyone turns it into a either or situation.

We either kill the capitalist or we let them do whatever they want, neither is rational or productive for society as a whole. I am for the most part a libertarian, but my rational must acknowledge the need for some regulation in the interest of the public mental and physical health, and in the interest of having a functional economy that isn't dominated by monopolies.

'Dude' - I'm getting my PhD in Industrial Engineering, so don't even try to throw that line at me!

Who the fuck says Capitalists are doing whatever they want????  Are you joking?  You know how many regulations they are regarding certain products and technologies, and just to get shit done in this economy.  Tech have to go through the FCC....  Meds have to go through the FDA.... Electrical products have to get UL certified... etc etc etc...Banking and such need to go through the Federal Reserves and the IRS!

Come on man!

No it's not.  A free market is suppose to safeguard monopolies, yet it doesn't.  A failure of capitalist thinking is that competitive pressures will prevent monopolies from occurring.  The whole idea is based on the assumption that monopolies have less incentive to innovate, thereby leaving the door open to new entrepreneurs to undermine the monopoly with better products.  This is not the case at all and another reason why capitalism is not a system worth having.
Abandon every hope...

Ah yes the 'we don't have a true free market' approach.  There can never be a true free market so if that is the true barrier.  Capitalism will always fail.

I agree with you, I'm not saying that is what is, I saying this is what most people support, either let them do as they please, or kill em all.

Yea, usa is free market LOL  ::) ::)

They only allow their own companies in their market. And then accuse other countries for protectionism when they do the same.

What a sad collapsing former colony.

Are you joking???  If anything American businesses right now are struggling because of the influx of foreign companies in America, and now the government is talking about and trying to put out incentives to boost American businesses and to promote "Made in America"

Have you ever thought for one minute that R&D on products such as an IPHONE requires BILLIONS of dollars in Capital to make such a product a reality.

If you want to live in the Stone-Age, by all means, move to the Third or Second World.
a few billion in R&D to make several billion every few months.

CUPERTINO, California—July 19, 2011—Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2011 third quarter ended June 25, 2011. The Company posted record quarterly revenue of $28.57 billion and record quarterly net profit of $7.31 billion, or $7.79 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $15.70 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion, or $3.51 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 41.7 percent compared to 39.1 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 62 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

Right because every city needs a hundred different landscapers to choose from. Or 500 hundred different mexican joints. If these Mexican's sat on the streets, maybe America would open there eye's and put some serious scratchola into the education sector.

LOL first of all the only made 7.9 billion i suspect your moronic ass is looking at revenue not earnings.

Second didnt they release the ipad 2 during the first quarter? hmmmmm

you look at numbers like these and make moronic assumptions without even knowing the underlying reasonings or other numbers like they actually increased investments in the company took on more debt etc...

Congrats on proving everyone right about you dip shit

And?
.. if by pointing out that R&D can cost billions you were attempting to prove that corporations needed lower tax rates, or that they couldnt sustain an increase in tax rates, then your wrong.  companies are making record profits that far exceed what they will spend on future R&D. and even if they werent, while they are, it still woudlnt be an argument because the goal of government is not to facilitate the devlopment of technologies.. at this point were only further devaluing ourselves and lowering our stature as we increase tech capabilities.
