Tom Platz was better that year, he made Danny look small. But danny was def. 2nd.

Tom Platz was great but he just had oversized legs. Danny had the overall package. Great upper and lower body, great back, superb conditioning.

Franco only had a good conditioned upper body. his legs and lower half were shit. don't forget the gyno.

How about Chris Dickerson? Many may disagree with me here. In my opinion, he should be Mr O in 80 and 81. Chris muscle maturity was out of this world. Not forgetting his symmetry and proportion. Great Legs and back. A well deserved win at the 82 'O'. I still have one of the very old muscle mag 'Muscle Training Illustrated' had a report on the 82 Mr.O. My brother brought it back from Canada for his summer college break. I was only 12.

nope Chris was not as good as the others in 1981.

Arnold was the clear winner in 1980. It wasn't a prime Arnold it was enough to crush the rest of the competition. Anyone who ever tries to argue 1980 in favor of anyone but Arnold is an idiot.

I agree! I was there that year and Platz was the winner all the way. Either Roy Callendar or Padilla should have been 2nd, Dickerson was 4th and Franco was 5th.

I don't think anybody would have complained if it went to either Platz or Padilla. Just not Franco. The worse Mr. Olympia in it's history. Smooth bow legs, glaring gyno. But being Arnold's Sardinian side kick the fix was in.

it's a shame that the video footage from 1981 is utter shit. Pretty much any of the footage after Arnold's retirement is garbage. Even some years there are few pictures it sucks.

dickerson deserved a mr o win, but 82 was samirs, chris wasnt at his best anymore, souldve won it in 80, it was gonna be his, but arnold threw a spanner in the works
