You do realise that america is just a corporation and that it owns you too... you think "your" government cares two mosquitos about you, LOL, think again, team america 
Meh it's not that extreme, but to say were more corrupt than paikistan or china is fair.
It's a fucking joke to hear people defend the rich in this country, I'm a strong believer in free markets, but when 90 percent of the top companies function as a monopoly than it's a bit to much to respect. Between lobbying power and the power of advertising, it's impossible for the market to react as a free and fluid system.
There's hoards of evidence that shows, that people fundamentally cannot react to the market, when you spend trillions of dollars on manipulation of demand(advertising) and then spend billions on buying your way through the government(aka lobbies, massive political contributions etc).
Seriously when was the last time the government actually acted in the interest of the america people(if ever?) Simple things like cutting the military budget won't(can't) happen because the lobbying power of lockheed, and boeing are far far far to powerful. But of course the gov's reason they can't resist is because wallstreet will drop 500 points any time business dosen't come first. That part is almost taken for granted, just watch the markets when anything related to regulation is announced near wall street they got us by the balls.
There's some very basic shit that need to happen in this country, tax advertising budgets of the most dominant industries(aka nike, microsoft etc), pass some anti monopoly legislation where the richest .1 percent cannot vote or effect policy of the government through lobbying or campaign contributions.
