Hmmmm.  Odd reasoning?

Bachmann may boycott NV debate

By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 10/13/11 11:14 PM EDT

Michele Bachmann tonight took the threats of boycotting the Nevada caucuses a step further, suggesting she may skip next week's CNN debate in Las Vegas in a show of support, per the Des Moines Register:

She also said she would boycott a candidate debate next week in Nevada in a show of support for New Hampshire’s status as the nation’s first presidential primary. Nevada has moved its caucus date to Jan. 14, putting pressure on the traditional nominating calendar in which Iowa’s caucus go first, followed by New Hampshire’s primary.

Rick Santorum is joining Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich in pledging to boycott the Nevada caucuses if it imperils the New Hampshire primary status, while Ron Paul is declining to.

In a statement, Paul campaign officials said, "Dr. Paul embraces New Hampshire's special place in American politics. That is why his campaign has invested more time and resources in the Granite State than any other candidate and built such a strong in-state organization. Dr. Paul is in this to win, and our campaign will compete for delegates everywhere we think we can win them. But this talk of boycotts doesn't serve the electoral process any more than the states' jockeying for position and primacy. New Hampshire deserves its rightful place as the first primary in the nation, but we will fight to preserve that place without depriving Nevada or Iowa voters of their say in the 2012 nomination process.”
 .
Santorum said essential the opposite: "Nevada's move has potentially forced the other early states to have primary’s near Christmas – and that destroys the primary process. I firmly believe that we must protect New Hampshire, the other early primary states and the proven presidential primary process.

To be clear, I will not campaign in Nevada nor participate in the Nevada caucus if" the date doesn't change.

I doubt anyone would notice if Huntsman didn't show up.

:)  He just announced he's skipping.  I wonder if his 1 percent poll standing will be affected?   :)
