Dad has a big nose, mom even bigger, and she has huge gums, so LOL no way out, but at least I didn't get the body genes. my dad and brother are overweight.

Here is me with my dad and younger brother. My brother is autistic so he sees things very differently than we all do. But still very smart and bi-lingual, which is not very common amongst autistic kids.

Yes my family and what they did for me opened up a lot of doors and gave me lots of opportunities, more than what many others have been given, I've always been grateful for that and Believe me I am fully aware of that.
But contrary to what people may think, yes I come from a fortunate family, but they don't just throw money at me whenever I please, on the contrary, I have a bachelors, a masters, and now working on a phd, because I want to take my life even further than what was given to me. My wife, the same way. I've literally spent nights sleeping in my office because I wanted to expand sectors of our company and make an impact. Yes, can't say I've ever struggled in life, very blessed to say that, but no deadz, I'm not traveling on somebody else's dime. I don't make stupid decisions and go running to mom and dad to refill my back account, I'm sure thats what you would like to think happens but thats far from the case.

I never questioned your decisions I was just pointing to the fact that you would not have gotten to where you are now without your parents help. You made it a point to acknowledge this in your post and I am satisfied with that. If you've managed to develop a good work ethic in your situation good on you. Many others fail when in the same type of situation and continue to be takers. It's good to be a contributor.

Your brother is lucky to of had parents that were able to give him the type of attention(therapists, aides, etc.) he needed. Otherwise his situation would be much worse.

My father would never had stood for that, when I first joined the business, he purposely gave me a shitty ass salary and shitty hours just to make a point.

Whatever dude I never said you didn't work hard and never had an issue with your finanicial status thats deadz, but from our perspective, when a guy talks about owning a business in a third world country, and then talks about studying for a phd in the states, that don't sound like hard work dude, but the score of a lifetime, the same with working for your family and trying to say that you've payed your way from school, and it looks like your trying to appear as if your doing it on your own.

I never would have gotten to where I was if it wasn't for my parents, you are absolutely right, I was very fortunate, but I'm trying to build my life as if I will never have that to fall back on, hence the higher education and business ventures.

Take it easy" to the Jersey asshole, I still wasn't that close to him but they are both still yelling at each other, then I shit you not, my buddy goes "You think you're so tough, you wanna talk shit, well lets see you talk to him!" and points to me LOL so I'm getting called out here, so I start yelling more, "take it easy, its an accident" (not knowing what the fuck is going on) and then I see two more Jersey middle aged guys walking towards me yelling "calm down", and my wife is trying to pull me back by my arm. Finally the trashy Jersey wife gets more aggressive and starts pulling her husband back and saying to us "I'm sorry, I'm sorry guys, its an accident"and we pull our boy back and calm him down.

What happened apparently is the Jersey guys 3 year old kid ran into my buddy, and my buddy apologized to him, but the father thought that my boy was arguing with his kid and completely lost it.

I never said, I paid for school myself? When did I ever say that?

Undergrad, by my parents

Masters, by my work

Phd, tuition is waived because I'm working as a graduate student assistant on campus.

Mikmaq, before I moved back to the US to go back to grad school, I was working fulltime in our company, and it was my life. 6 days a week, 8am to 8 pm with 2 hour commutes daily for a year to get to a project site. Meeting with clients at midnight, trying to start the gym business on the side, and traveling the world to meet suppliers and partners, which albeit was fun, but still took up a big chunk of my time. This virtual management from overseas only came recently when I went back to school.

Never said you said anything it's just whats implied by the things you said. Again I respect you more than 99 percent of getbiggers, your the only around here that lifts and has an actual career. I myself aim to be somewhat on your path, but I think it's important for me or anyone in my type of situation to recognize the obvious advantages I have. I mean on trivial shit too like the confidence I have in a office setting. After going to school and seeing the huge gap between kids that get the game, and those that want to emulate it, I can't kid myself that anyone in that type of situation isn't at a huge advantage.
