I didn't see anything wrong with their answers.  Are they suppose to know everything about everything?  Are they suppose to be wonderful orators?  I didn't know being an economist meant you had to give your opinion about everything.

Oh so you would rather they make rash generalizations without the appropriate data?  The guy answered the question perfectly.  If he doesn't know enough about that situation to make a judgment then why should he?  To appease Schiff?  Give me a break.  This guy has 100x the academic credibility of Schiff he doesn't need to prove anything to anybody.

KC, seriously that was really kind of a stupid post that deserved getting an eye roll.  I just laughed at what you said and wasn't even going to reply.  It's like suggesting it would be stupid to ask a dentist about cavities ::)

Not really.  Using your analogy it's like asking a dentist about a cavity in someone else's mouth that you have not worked on.  If you asked about cavities in general then your analogy would be appropriate.  But they didn't ask about the economy in general, they asked about specifics on an economy that the economists do not have all the facts about to make a decision.

You can't memorize the economy because its ever changing.  No economist is capable of that without crunching the numbers.  Video just doesn't cut it
