Coach, I hope you don't mind if I take this opportunity to say a few words about Joe and ask a few questions of clarification.
I knew Joe casually for a good number of years and we were always planning to have a lunch or dinner after one of the prejudging's or the finals. That "plan" went on for a long time but it was always interrupted by the need to attend church or other per-planed engagements.
So when Joe eventually moved into the 'rest home' he called me to tell me that there was a great Mexican restaurant in the area and it would be a good time to get together for a meal and talk story about competitive bodybuilding, photography, and his years within the movie business.
So we made plans where I would pick him up and we'd get together for a good Mexican enchalada close to his present residence.
But just prior to that planned get-together, Joe passed away ... so it never did happen and I still regret that because Joe was one heck of a great guy and a great friend with interesting life experiences he enjoyed talking about.
Do you know whatever happened to the book he was working on... "Why is Everyone in Hollywood Famous Except Me!?"
ANd I can understand a bit why Rory was upset.
Can you also let me know the month and year that Joe passed away. I'm bad at recalling dates and times and would like to do my best to discover why I wasn't present at Joe's funeral also.
