800 pound bears have been taken down with tranquilizers. You could easily take down a tiger with a tranquilizer. so yes they had a choice. Its just man trying to be superior and flex their muscles by destroying other living things.

The problem is, not too many police are trained to tranq animals. The best spot, the dosage, etc.

I thought it was more a problem of the tranqs taking too long to take the beasts down, which could cause angry confused hell on 4 legs...

Plus, lets be realistic here: people are constantly going into the wild to capture and relocate 18 foot crocs and using minimal equipment. I know dude I was yelling at the TV this morning saying the same thing, but even that nature boy they brought in to dictate the situation said it was the only way

I guess bodybuilding is for gays because based on the posts in this thread it sounds like there are a lot of f*ggots here. Jeezus. It's sad that all those animals got smoked but it's better them than us. How would you like to be some poor schmuck that goes out to check his mail and gets eaten by a lion? Or maybe a tiger snatches your toddler and has a little snack on your front lawn?

A good plan right now is better than a perfect plan later. It was a time sensitive issue. It was getting dark and these things were going to be a lot harder to find and catch the more time that passed. The sherrifs had to protect their citizens. Do you think they have enough tranquilizers on hand to effectively sedate an entire zoo's worth of huge deadly animals? I doubt it. Getting all of that shit squared away takes time that they didn't have. I'd rather have that son of a bitch as the Sherrif than some indecisive tree hugging pussy.

In places like Texas, they have Bengal tigers on huge reserves so that they can hunt them and and kill them.
In other places people has these animal reserves so that they can have people come and see the animals...Big Cats are huge money makes.
