Herman Cain isn't respected by the black community because he basically sat out during the Civil Rights Era.  He didn't march, he didn't abide by the boycotts, he didn't speak out against racism or anything.  I mean, he graduated from Morehouse College...a predominantly historic black college and a station area for the Civil Rights Movement...and he didn't do shit.  Even worse, when they asked him why he didn't participate, he gave a bullshit answer that he was too young!!!!  He was in college in the 60's....
