He changed his story again today - about 5 minutes after the story broke of what the accusers actually got...

So in the span of 24 hours:

He knows nothing about a settlement.

Okay, he knows about a settlement, but it was only two to three months' salary.

Okay, that settlement he didn't know about yesterday, but then remembered it was only two to three months' salary, was actually three to six months.

This is interesting.

According to Rush, it appears that this lawyer DOES NOT have the confidentiality clause, that he claims keeps his clients from spilling the alleged beans on Cain.

In fact, he didn't even know this was even about Cain initially. The Washington Post left this part out of the story.

And that the matter was settled via a few phone calls.

More to follow.

Sounds like Cain was making up a bunch of shit 'on the fly'.

That creative shit works when you're lying to children about how santa gets down chimneys, etc.

Now so much to people with grownup brains.

Yeah, politicians who lie never get elected....

rick perry is dancing on the streets that this cain mess came out the same day as his drunken 25 minute slurring speech.

i hope, for the next debate perry skips, one of the other candidates mentions something about him missing the event cause he's nursing a hangover...

Well, he predicted Obama would be the proverbial train wreck as president, how his policies would cripple this nation, and how his foreign policies deal would backfire.

And he was DEAD ON THE MONEY!!!

As for this latest issue, if there indeed is no confidentiality clause or if the NRA has purged the files (it is over a decade old), what's stopping this woman from coming forth, if she has such a devastating case to make against Cain? We'd still love to know what the alleged charges are.

Perry has his own problems with that goofy press conference he just had. Cain has not been adversely affected yet (poll-wise or money-wise) and if this continues to pan out as a hit piece, Cain may end up stronger than ever.

even if it is a hit piece - and it could be...

we see that Cain will lie at the drop of a hat, or, "not recall things".

we see that cain had 10 days to prepare a response to this allegation, and was a mess.  He bragged about his biz experience - but isn't crisi mgmt part of that?  As president, something silly like this will be nothing compared with "Mr Cain, CHina and Russia just dropped the dollar and are massing their warships".

Will he get 10 days to fuddle that?

Mitt and Ron paul are the only adults left.  huntsman too.

I've cited news stories multiple times, regarding this issue. It appears your memory is short, yet again.

I mentioned several aspects of this story that aired on Fox and on CNN, as well as the internet. And, I've included info from Rush.

I'm actually more inclined to support him after seeing how desperate the smear campaign has become.  Usually, when liberals start frothing at the mouth over a candidate, the candidate must be doing something right.

Paul and Huntsman are basically out of it. There is very little that makes them appealing that can't be found in the other candidates.

Here's another update.

The lawyer of one of Cain's accuser says his client may not want to talk no more, getting cold feet.

Joel P. Bennett, a lawyer representing one of two women who made the claims against Cain, initially told The Washington Post on Tuesday that his client wanted out of a non-disclosure agreement she signed upon leaving the National Restaurant Association, where Cain served as president from 1996 through 1999.

“It is just frustrating that Herman Cain is going around bad-mouthing the two complainants, and my client is blocked by a confidentiality agreement,” Bennett said in that interview.

But later, one of the two women who accused Cain of sexual harassment indicated she might be having second thoughts about going public with her side of the story, according to her attorney and another person who knows her.

But a second person familiar with the thinking of the woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the woman is wary of the ramifications of her name becoming public.

The woman “did not create this story,” the person said. She has been “completely swept up in this hurricane” and is discussing with her husband and family whether to make her story public.

The woman is a federal employee barred from political activities by the Hatch Act, Bennett said. According to public records, she is married to a registered lobbyist who is a registered Republican and has donated to both Democratic and Republican political candidates.

Tuesday night, on CNN, Bennett seemed to back off his earlier comments with the Post. In a telephone interview with Anderson Cooper, Bennett said the woman was “mulling over what she wants to do” and apparently was undecided about going public. “She’s naturally been upset about it.”

First, Rush reports that this lawyer may not have that confidentiality clause, blocking his client from talking, after all.

Now, this woman might be clamming up.

She'll probably be selling her story, depending on how far Cain goes in the race.

at this point in 2007, it was thompson in the lead.   Cain was a nobody a month ago.  we still have 10 weeks until Iowa.

Anything can happen.  Perry can still win it.  Cain can be at 2% or 40% come Iowa.

For that to happen, those two had better kick into gear QUICKLY! They're running out of time. They have to bring something that the others haven't to this point.

newts back up to 10%, i saw.

ya never know - GOP voters aren't choosing between two candidates they love.  Rather, they're deciding if they want the RINO Romney - or if they want to SETTLE for the least of the worst candidates remaining.

None of them are STRONG.  Like I said, it Christie and Jeb were in the race, it'd be Mitt at a distant 3rd, then everyone else at 2 percent.

GOP voters have to SETTLE for someone.  Could be newt for all we know.  I bet TPaw would be in 2nd or first right now, if he had stayed in.
