I havent seen anything in Cains stand up that would suggest he would come out the winner in that kind of fight, but he has more skills available to him and has much better cardio. The fact that JDS couldnt put away Roy Nelson does leave a hint of doubt but then i remember what he did to Carwin.
Great fight in the making, probably wont go passed 8 minutes (im figuring that half way through round 2 is the max for those that want an explanation).
I think the fight will end in the second or third rounds. They both will be too cautious in the first round and will be studying their opponent. These are the ways I see the fight ending:
- JDS moves in very fast in the second round and KOs Cain.
- They have a stand-up war in the second round, Cain takes some hard hits but survives with his hard chin and clips JDS who goes to sleep.
- Cain takes JDS down, puts him on his back and does ground-and-pound. JDS survives that round. At the beggining of the third round, Cain takes him down again and this time the ground-and-pound TKOs JDS who gives up.
- Cain takes JDS down on all five rounds and wins by points by controlling him on the ground and outstriking him there.
These are the four possibilities that I see for this fight. The two most likely are the second one and the third one. It is unlikely that JDS will accomplish a fast KO, and it is unlikely that he will survive five rounds getting ground-and-pound.
