 Cheesy

This was definitely not supposed to be part of the tour.

An Urban Park Ranger leading a walking tour in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park captured a creep who was spotted pleasuring himself in a forested part of the greenspace, police sources said.

And police later found that the suspect’s obscene behavior was not the only threat he posed to society — he was also packing a loaded pistol, the sources said.

While the mission of Urban Park Rangers is primarily an educational one, they also have law enforcement authority in parks. Andrew Marsala showed he’s also got more than a bit of daring.

Marsala was guiding the tour about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, when a park-goer alerted him to a bizarre and disgusting scene: the man, engaged in a self-pleasure session in a wooded area at the western edge of the park, near Fourth St. in Park Slope, police sources said.

When Marsala approached the pervert, he took off — but the ranger chased him down and captured him, holding him until other Parks officials arrived, the sources said.

The suspect was identified by police sources as Glen Perouza, 53, of south Jamaica, Queens. He had a bag of marijuana in his coat pocket when he was detained, the sources said.

But when he arrived in a Parks Department vehicle at the NYPD’s 78th Precinct, police noticed that a loaded 9-mm handgun was on the seat beside him, the sources said.

Police believe he had the gun stashed on him when he was arrested and may have tried the sources said.

Perouza was awaiting arraignment Friday on charges of weapons possession and unlawful possession of marijuana, said a spokesman for Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes.

Urban Park Rangers are unarmed employees of the city Parks Department. They are primarily responsible for running educational programs, including walking tours, throughout the park system.

“The public should be grateful for the fine work this ranger did in protecting the public,” said Geoffrey Croft, President of the group NYC Park Advocates.
