"Take a Lesson From Singapore" excerpts
« on: November 05, 2011, 11:16:40 AM »
The first in our new series about global education: as recently as the 1960?s, Singapore was a sleepy backwater with a 40% illiteracy rate and a school system that served only the elite. Today, it is a global economic powerhouse, and its students have scored at the top of every international math, science and literacy test for the last decade. By the end of tenth grade, most Singaporeans are almost two school years ahead of most American students.

How and why have Singapore?s students managed to skyrocket past the rest of the developed world so quickly, while American students have only continued to sink further in the world rankings? Could Singapore?s approach to education provide lessons for how we could reform our own schools? "Take a Lesson From Singapore" airs November 1, 2011. Dan Rather Reports airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET.

Because the American school system bends over backwards to make the retarded illegal immigrant fucks feel accepted and in return has lowered our own education standards ???

No other country folds to the immigrants third world standards like the US. :(

i like the Idea of Caining them when they're bad.

Granted, Cains are historically terrible at crisis mgmt, but they can sure drive home a "nein, nein, nein" point.

Our shitty system was fucked well before the illegal browns made way here...

Try punk ass kids that aren't disciplined and don't want to learn because their parents have failed to educate them about the importance of education.

The kids are punk asses because of the parents...shitty horrible parents that were men and women enough to make the children but not raise them...Your average American is a dumb fuck, sorry. Hearts may be in the right place the they're idiots.

The poor teachers are paid pennies...They teach an outdated curriculum.

Why do you think private schools and prep schools do so much better? Better students, parents that care, For the most part better teachers.

It's like an Edward Gibbon book in here.  Guess I'll throw on my tinfoil helmet and jump into the fray anyway.  Lets all go down fighting (with eachother).

It's not all perfect in Singapore. I was born there and despite growing up in Australia I have maintained a lot of contact with SIngapore. The kids have been kicking back against the system for a few years now. Discipline problems, teacher burnout - it's not all that different to other countries.

They don't have to take in and pay for African, Mexican or Rumanian scum though

Doubtless it's due to latent Black Genes, left by the legendary Black Explorer and all 'round bon vivant, LuD@Chriz2fer Mofumbus.

It's a little known FACT that this great Black Man discovered Singapore and built a culture of Black sExceptionality, scientificalized sexpertise and whatnot heretofore unrivaled until the late 1950s by those unsung heroes of NASSA http://www.negrospaceprogram.com/ which until recently was completely covered up by white american hebrews and other bipedal pork eating non peoples of color.

In fact, if you were to re arraign just two of the letters in "Singapore" you would be shown the mystic and True Black Nature (TBN©) of these once proud peepses.  Nigapores.

Sorry folks.  It was a off the top of the head moment.  Besides, it's a chance to put up a link to the excellent mockumentary on the Old Negro Space Program.  The folks that made that made a true work of art for the ages.

When will "The Coach" return to this thread with his cogent and well thought out reasoning as to why I have been "owned" because he chooses to send his kid to private school?  ???  ::) I am usually quite entertained and amused by the ramblings of our poorly educated village idiot.
C'mon Meximelt! Don't disappoint!

This whole deal of using other countries as a yardstick is stupid. We know what the problem is, but are too scared to fix it. It's easy to sit back and point fingers, and say, "look at this country"

Lack of respect, slackeritis being excepted, more emphasis on sports and being cool, catering to illegal immigrants, are all slices of a bigger pie.

And by the way coach, Private school suck--for the teachers. They are paid less than public school teachers.

Especially, a small, uniformally-populated, authoritarian, Asian one.
