Who cares.  There isn`t a single vegetable that tastes like a Rack of Ribs.

I cook vegetable dishes all of the time.  There is just no substitute for Smoked Pork Shoulder cooked over a Hickory Fire.

It's not about taste, it's an ethical decision!

Fuck yeah I'd eat meat. It's healthy and it tastes good. What's not to like?

I`m all for synthetic meat, cuts of meat grown from cells, but people of your ilk call it spooky and throw a hissy fit whenever this technology (which we do have) is mentioned as a viable solution.  A perfect cut of meat with the perfect marbling can be created without any animal dying for it.

With that said, the cattle that ARE raised for meat, would not have been born otherwise so essentially they would have been dead to begin with.

As far as ethics go, don`t give me that bullshit.  How many insects do you kill?  How many virus do you starve and kill? How many plants do you kill? Where are you drawing the line of what you deem to be okay to kill and not okay?

Comparing eating meat to Auschwitz...  ::) You people really are out of your minds. A little more animal protein and fat would probably do your brain some good.

adonis poor adonis settle down, your anger is causing you to drift off into other realms. this isnt rocket science, vegetarians dont contemplate how many poor tiny insects they hit while driving a car  ::) going into a silly argument about that is nonsensical. plants are here for us and us for them they support us by giving us oxygen aswell as we support them however we waste a shitload of trees for paper wich pisses me off but thats another story... . This is only digging the hole deeper when you cant validate eating a rather large 'being' of this earth.

Yes you can. Animal proteins are of a higher quality than plant proteins. Also, animal fats (e.g. DHA & EPA) are necessary for human health. Thus, it is ethical for humans to eat other animals.

but you knew you could but hardly anyone else ate meat

i didnt think you would either

dont follow the sadistic plot by the illuminati to give all of you cancer

before adonis chimes in saying vegetarianism gives you cancer, any limited regimen of fruits along with meat will still give you cancer, studies do not restrict meat, yet will claim such regular food can cause cancer again i remind you that any food will still contribute to cancer if you eat meat

 great post,

and meat stays longer in the body and degrades in a toxic way which also contributes to cancer, and it is often very acidic, especially pork, and acidity also contributes to cancer risk.

no , paired plant protiens make for a complete protien. omega 3's are in nearly all beans and vegetables

Don't eat meat anymore - but if folks really enjoy it and chose good quality... more power to them.
The only bad thing in eating meat is the mass production and the low prices/quality. If you shell out good money and know your source than it's yummy.

Where do you think fish get DHA from? Marine algae (!) which is where we can get it from too.

See here though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_combining

In any case don't forget quinoa and amaranth and others are complete proteins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_protein

Everyone in my family is vegetarian and I was raised to be one, but I started eating meat in my 20s and don't regret it one bit. I love it and make up for my family ;D Red meat makes a huge difference if you're natural.

Falcon, it's in the order of Nature for animals to kill & eat and be eaten by other animals. Humans are biologically animals, so it's perfectly OK to kill a cow for it's flesh. And like Adonis said, the cattle is raised for the sole purpose of being consumed. Animals are natural resources that should be respected, but not revered and made untouchable. You wouldn't deny lions or tigers their share of meat, so why do it to humans? Yes, the whole rearing process could be more "humane", but that's a different topic altogether.

Ethics aside. Bodybuilding benefits of protein aside.

It's shown that almost all cases of heart/cardiovascular disease and obesity are directly related to diet.

Drugs aren't the answer.

The answer is really simple. Diet. Cut out the animal products and you aren't going to die from your diet.

I have no problem with people killing animals for food. I do believe it's the natural order of things. And, nothing like a good, hearty protein meal every once in a while.

However, if I can prolong my life be eating less animal products, it's worth exploring.

I've been phasing animal products out of my diet for almost a year now and have shown no poor health results. In fact, exactly the opposite.
