in regards to what government policy do you feel the idea that 'corporations are not people' is being used as justification?

We all have a right to assemble in corporate form, union form, religious form, whatever.  I don't see the problem going away.

Sometimes I wonder if it's just easier for people to believe that corporations are big, mindless, uncaring entities and that's why they sometimes do some horrible things.  Reality is somewhere along the line - a person or group of people are responsible for making the corporation do horrible things.

And, in case you're confused...

groups of people are still people.

Nobody wants corporate or union interests or even special interests ruling the government, but corporate personhood just isn't a simplistic issue.

Evidently the courts feel that groups of people have many of the same Constitutional protections as individuals.

Depends.  Freedom of speach, protection from unreasonable search and seizure...yes

Buying politicians...no

Unfortunately, picking and choosing gets to be sticky.  Real sticky.

Could easily be rectified by not supporting politicians who take the bulk of their donations from corporations. But I guess that's asking too much.

Obama has collected more Wall St. cash than the GOP candidates COMBINED.

I would favor no limits, full disclosure, but no money from corps or unions.
