he was a lobbyist, there is no denying that.

I dont think any getbigger will step up and say 'building bridges to capitol hill' and 'developing an argument to resolate with conservatives' isn't lobbying.

People from both parties do it all the time.  Marco rubio was a lobbyist, as was herman cain.

Of course, bay... I believe Huntsmann and RPaul are the best choices.

I put romney, newt, santorum, in the next group.  won't fix things, but acceptable.

in the incompetent group, i place perry and cain... and maybe bachman, not sure.

Santorum is not acceptable at all (IMO)

He may have some knowledge of Congress and the political machine in DC but he's far right fundie of the worst kind.

The dude is against contraception for christ sakes.

Newt is also a pompous douche and the more he talks the more people don't like him just for the person that he is

this might be true.   but he is probably the most competent person running, aside from ron paul.

I'd give the "appears to be most competent" award to Huntsman

Don't be fooled by Gingrich's bloviating.

He was basically run out of town by his own party (and for good reason)

Leaving in disgrace is not usually a sign of competence

btw - with more debates than a regular season of baseball why can't they put Buddy Roemer on stage for a few of them.   I'd like to see that guy mix it up with the rest of them and I'd be willing to bet we'd see his poll numbers rise immediately

sorry, I do put huntsmann 2nd, but I don't see hiim as having any chance, unfortunately.

out of the top 4 at 20% apiece (romney, paul, cain and newt)...

I'd put paul 1st,,

newt 5th , romney 7th

then everyone else.

x2.  Remember when his entire staff quit on him this summer?  The senior staff who knew him best and worked most closely with him, assessed his performance and said we are outta here.  'nuff said.  He needs to go away and stay away.

Newt is a real snake. His consulting was a joke and then he tries to paint himself as an expert. He got paid well and offered nothing of meaningfull substance. He can lie as easily as breathing.

It is crazy to see how the so called "conservative base" who are sick of establishment type republicans are willing to back the most establishment, inside the beltway, globalist politician in the whole republican party for president.

LOL. So you finally went from "they're all shitty, I wish Jeb or a real conservative would run" to "they're all shitty....except Ron Paul, of course".

Speaking of hot air....

none of them are awesome.  there's no equivalent of a hilary running for the GOP.

80% of the party doesn't want mitt.
cain and perry and dumb as a box of rocks.
the rest are decent enough.

I think this process is great. They're getting vetted incredibly hard now.  By time the winner is picked it will all be out of the way. What will Obama have to hammer them on that we didn't already know?

He's fucked.
