He sucked---over-rated, over hyped.
Had a pleasing physique, he was more a fitness model, but he could t do damage on stage, plus his conditioning was shitty, and he got lost in the crowd...and now he has that ugly big eyed look.

If you are talking to me---he was over rated...always saw his pic in Musclemag, he looked good, but he couldn't hack it with the 90s bbers...he got more print in the mags than bbers who actually deserved it...I guess when you are "friends" or train with Dorian, it opens up doors...

Actually I met him  at the 2001 toronto pro, the guy was very nice, well spoken and when he had hair he was a natural guido, so I don't think he was over exposed based on those criteria, and in contest he never placed high, but in real life he looked a lot bigger when I saw him.

I constantly saw him in Musclemag in the 90s, and then there were the stories of hm working out with Dorian, hanging out with Dorian, Dorian, Dorian, Dorian...it's like if Dorian scratched his left nut, Jamo knew about it and could tell a story about it, he was like that Ausst dude who wanted to fight Ernie Taylor.
Jamo may very well be a nice guy, but based on physique alone and exposure alone, I thought he was over-rated, and that space that he took up could have gone to other up and coming bbers, specifically from Canada---Musclemag never really hyped up the good the ones, so you never really heard about them

He was too thin to win and I remember Musclemag showing him doing bent over barbell rows with 4 plates, with him saying he could do the same thing Dorian could, so you're right about the Dorian fixation. Good physique, but too light for the pro stage, esp. in the mid-late 90s.

I understand he's emphatically against stimulants of any type with his clients. No over or under the counter goods. Interesting when they're thought by some trainers to be as important as your protein intake...

There was the story he told of Flex Wheeler visiting Dorian and Flex saying that he didn't like doing 4 plates or more in bent rows because "it hurt", or something like that. And then the story of Dorian having two big black dogs (Rotts, I think) and Flex was scare of them...
I far as I know, Jamo never told stories about himself...I guess he was too boring.

He reminds me of a lighter and more symmetrical George Farah.

I heard Cormier call him Yamo instead of hard J. but not 100% sure if he was correct or not

Come on bro.....what is your beef with Jamo??? If we had more physiques like his...the sport might be in a better place. IMHO
