This is Ron Coleman in his prime
« on: November 21, 2011, 01:05:26 PM »

Fuck 2003, this is Ronnie at his all-time best. Look at the minuscule waist, the thick thick dense dense back/chest, massive arms, and colossal legs.

That looked much better than the giant gut he got later on.  I met him once at the DFW airport.  Nice guy!   :)

He was on high doses even there, friend, but Ron made it work. Superb structure and shape.

Didn't Dorian Yates beat Ronnie Coleman in 1997?

Obviously. I mean high doses for a long time and its just inevitable to ruin your body.

^this

i've been saying this for years.

guys look their absolute best just as they get their pro cards it seems when they are competing in the NPC. then in order to be more competitive they have to push more and you get stage one palumboism setting in within 5 years of competing as a pro.

those middle eastern cats know how to get dry and stay in good shape for shows. you dont see any kind of palumobism on their competitors. i think it has a lot to do with the expense of the compounds and more reliance on training/ diet (and diuretics come show time)

Those arab dudes get as dry as the desert don't they. What they lack in size they make up for in conditioning.

Quoted for motherf ucking truth!!

Been saying this for eons now.

If you look back at some/most pros amatuer pics, they look far better..............I`m talking about after they max out their frames and "Stage 1 Palumboism" is just starting to get a foothold.

I could be wrong, but I believe most Euro BB`s train high volume....none of this pansy ass 30-45 minute shit.

He looked amazing there, but not as cut and dry as he was at his very, very best.

Even though I generally disagree with Hulkster's conclusions, I do agree with him inasmuch as Ronnie in '99 was at his best overall.  Was he as "dry" as he was in '98?  No.  Was he as big as he was in 2003?  No, but he was a shitload drier and more detailed.

And for the '98 fappers, Ronnie's added size gave the illusion of greater definition in certain areas.  Further, the added size to the shoulders helped his overall balance tremendously.  He whipped Flex's ass all over that stage.  Cormier and Ray should have been vying for the #2 spot that year.  Syntholated Flex didn't look terrible ... except for his obvious abuse of Synthol in his arms and shoulders! :D

Branch Warren is another good example of many......looked incredible as an amatuer just coming on the scene.

Now he looks almost toxic.

I don't give a fuck about Olympia placings, I personally think that his physique at that point was perfect.

OK OK, I am giving you a hard time, ;D

You should word it different then, I know what you mean that this version of Ronnie is what you like best, but you can't use the word prime, cause prime would mean officially his best, 8)
