In that offseason pic with jeans he may very well be 290lb. I'd even say - easily. He looks tank in these pics, and looking tank at his height is usualy when you are around 280-290mark.
He's obviously lighter in current precontest pics.

I don't know about you but I don't think old bodybuilders should be trying to regain what they once had by trying to be as big as they once were. I just can't imagine that being healthy.

You honestly think that picture represents a guy weighing 290? Look at his face. Not even close to that weight. I'm guessing 255 tops. When you see Gary in person, he does look incrediable. But he doesn't have that Nassar/Cutler/Dillet width that is jaw dropping in person. He has hints of the 3D effect but you need the 3D glasses to see it. Guys like Nassar/Cutler don't need the glasses to see the freakness.

I dont' think he's 290, but i'm sure hes atleast 260. When your that tall, pics are very deceiving. I'm 6'2 and when I'm down to 260 I'm diced up and not even that big.

I know what you mean, but he has a "freak" factor going def. And my reason of believeing he's around 290 in that pic - I've seen quite a few guys of that height at that weight during offseason and they looked of a very similar size. He wouldn't look much smaller next to Freeman if they'd stand side by side (or so I think) so it's believeable. 290lb sounds A LOT, but at 6ft+ it becomes relative.

You guys have to understand that in those last shots, he is standing completely relaxed.
To look that good without flexing at all is incredible. Dry him out, add lights, flex and tan and he is on!

Don Youngblood would have been 57 right now.

He died @ 51 years old in 2005.

He had been an out-of-shape longhaul trucker for most of his life. My guess is that he was already extremely unhealthy prior to beginning his bodybuilding career, which was VERY late in the game.

Since I was also in the trucking industry, we used to talk (via email) quite a lot. I still have emails from him.

Very sad, but he was a day late and a dollar short.
