Saw this kid play last week at Aloha Stadium.  Outstanding.  He will play on Sundays.  Incredible quickness and vision.  Tough runner.  Durable for a little guy.  Barring injury, he's going to be a good one.

NEW HAVEN, Conn - Fresno State senior running back Robbie Rouse was named Friday as one of 50 "players to watch" by the Walter Camp Football Foundation for its 2012 Player of the Year award.

This is the fourth national award watch list that Rouse has been named to this summer. The Walter Camp Player of the Year award is the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade.

Rouse, a 5-7, 190-pound San Diego native, was named Thursday to the Doak Walker Award watch list and previously to the Maxwell Award and CFPA All-Purpose Trophy lists.

The fourth-year senior is the only player from the Mountain West represented on the Walter Camp preseason list.

Rouse enters the 2012 season as the nation's fourth-leading active rusher with 3,157 rushing yards. He only needs 317 more yards to break Ron Rivers' school record that he set back in 1993 for the most rushing yards in a career.

He was a first-team All-WAC selection in 2011 when he ran for 1,549 yards and 13 touchdowns. Rouse ranked seventh nationally in rushing and his 329 carries set a new school record while ranking second in the FBS.

The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in mid-November. The 2012 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 124 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced live on ESPN SportsCenter on Thursday, Dec. 6. The winner will then receive his trophy at the Foundation's annual national awards banquet on Jan. 12, 2013 at the Yale University Commons in New Haven.

Robbie Rouse sets Fresno State rushing record in win
Associated Press

FRESNO, Calif. -- Robbie Rouse set the Fresno State all-time rushing record on a 94-yard run that gave him four touchdowns in the first quarter as the Bulldogs rolled past winless Colorado 69-14 on Saturday night.

Rouse's long run that tied the school record for a single play helped him pass Ron Rivers as the leading rusher in Bulldogs history. Rouse ran for 144 yards on the night, giving him 3,519 to Rivers' 3,473.

Rouse started the rout with a 4-yard TD run on the first drive for Fresno State (2-1) and also caught TD passes of 9 and 12 yards from Derek Carr as the Bulldogs broke out to a 35-0 first-quarter lead and were up 55-7 at the half.
