I know---look there is a certain "element" at VB, and they don't know how to act right many of the time...like during Memorial Day or Labor Day...OBX is quieter, calmer, more peaceful, but you can still find the party spots...imagine making Paella on the beach...

I'm not too worried about the party scene. I care more about stuff to do and see, and outdoor shit to do. It looks like Raleigh is closer to the mountains, but further from the beach.

It was sick, but sort of glad it was permanent. I dont think I could afford much of a house there.

The real estate in NC is insanely cheap. There has got to be a catch. The property tax is 1/4 of what it is in NY.

More to do outdoors in Raleigh...in VA they have the beautiful Skyline Drive, which is a excellent (and Romantic) day trip...very scenic...Lurray Caverns...but VA beach is near (kinda) Newport News...and they have been having fires this year, I was stuck on the road with exits cut off near Suffolk...

yea only downfall is housing prices in San Diego. Albeit, I did help a friend put an offer on a house for short sale. She is closing next week.

NY, depending which county is nuts for taxes. I was doing closings there, mostly refi's, and doing consolidating loans, they fucking tax everything not to mention extra recording fees for consolidating docs and shit

OK cool. I'm leaning towards Raleigh then, but to wake up and smell the ocean would be nice in VB.

Lived in both, and would never willingly live in southeastern VA again.  I'm not big on military towns.

Just flew out to Raleigh-Durham for a few hours today.  Even with all you fuckers moving in, it's still one of the most beautiful areas in America.
