How and why did being vascular to the point of looking like a frigging road map become popular in bodybuilding? I get that if one is shredded, they are going to appear more vascular, however to look like he does is extreme and extremely unattractive.

It may be different when he's on stage but the 1st
thing that pops out at me besides the veins is the lack
of separation.
He has some striations but very little separation.
Writers started talking about this when slin became
more prominent. Larger, more engorged muscle but
with loss of detail - called non reaction contraction.
Reminds me much like Branch's thighs there.

I much prefer this kind of detail...
