Trump might scrub his GOP presidential debate
« on: December 09, 2011, 11:30:42 AM »

WASHINGTON (AP) — Business mogul Donald Trump said Friday he might scrub a presidential debate that so far has drawn only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

Trump, the reality television star who has not ruled out an independent White House bid, had hoped for all of the Republican candidates to join in a debate he would moderate Dec. 27 in Iowa..."I have to look into it," Trump told Fox Business Network when asked whether he would host a two-candidate debate.

Trump was most indignant about Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann skipping out.

"She came up to see me four times. She would call me and ask me for advice," Trump said. "She said if she wins, she would like to think about me for the vice presidency. Most importantly, I did a two-hour phone call for her with her people. ... And after all that, she announced she was not going to do the debate. It's called loyalty. How do you do that? It's amazing to me."

The planned Donald Trump-moderated Republican presidential debate seems to be turning into a bust.

Rick Perry's campaign indicated Thursday that the Texas governor will not participate, saying he will be focused instead on meeting Iowa voters.

"Traditional retail campaigning in the days and weeks leading up to the Iowa caucus is the Perry campaign's top priority," said Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan. Perry is one of a number of GOP presidential candidates who has met with Trump seeking his endorsement.

Three candidates - Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman - have previously said they would not participate in the December 27 debate in Des Moines. Huntsman and Paul mocked the event, with Paul deeming it "beneath the office of the presidency," while Romney said his busy schedule precludes his participation.

Repub party discipline is in shambles

Everyday that Trump is associated with Repubs he's making the entire party look like a bunch of clowns

maybe that's really Trumps secret motive and he's just punking them all

that would be a great way to end the season

and he's not running for president either.  That's just a vieled threat to the other candidates saying, attend my debate or else.  fucking assclown is so transparent it's a joke.

you're right but I'm not going to call all the candidates clowns

I think RP is serious (I don't agree with him on most issues but he's consistent in his words and deeds) and I think Huntman is serious too

The rest of the field should show up in a clown car for the next debate

rememebr my CT on this?

Trump is a lifelong liberal who only 'changed sides' the last 2 years FACT
Trump still donates lots of money to liberals FACT
Trump is paid tens of millions of dollars by a lib network FACT

If it was ANY OTHER person trying to suddenly say "Hey, I'm a repub now!  Let me be president?"...
You repubs would be laughing him out of the barn, calling him a phony, etc.

Yall just loved trump tho.  Anyone else, you would be calling them a liberal plant to make the GOP look terrible.
