Mitt Romney Offers To Bet Rick Perry $10,000 On Debate Stage
« on: December 11, 2011, 01:03:53 AM »
DES MOINES — This should play well to the 99% crowd: without skipping a beat at the Saturday night debate here, Mitt Romney held out his hand and offered to bet Rick Perry $10,000 that he didn’t change the health care text in his book..

In a throwback to debates from the late summer, Perry was attacking Romney over a claim that Romney changed the text his book, No Apology between hardback and softcover editions to delete a line about taking his Massachusetts health care plan to the whole country.

Romney said the story was not true and bet Perry $10,000 Perry couldn’t prove it.

no politician will be able to capitalize on this least of all obama with as much money as he spends.

this isnt an issue but its not a surprise your trying to make it into one.

1) Mormons don't gamble.

2) Mitt is in a very bad spot at the moment if he's resorting to saying things like this.  Newt looking to be in good shape despite lack of ground game.

Methinks a lot of repubs are going to disagree with you tony that it's not a big deal at all.

They $10k bet story is top on the fox news home page.
i'd say it's an issue to republicans as well.  It's not the 'mean ol leftist mainstream media' pushing it.

Fox & repubs think the story is a big deal.

It's also the top morning story on FOX news (TV).

No one gives a fuck.

You really should be working for NY Slimes or something. You're just as much of a sensationalist propagandist as they are. Clearly taking marching orders from your daily MoveOn.org email. C*nt.

A lot of republicans care a lot about it.  It shows Mitt is really out of touch.

It's repub vs repub right now.  Perry looked very good on this exchange.  Newt came out the clear winner.
Mitt could slowly be moving from 2nd to rd in republican ranking.

With Ron paul securing a very strong ground game in the first 7 states as he has...
With newt having very little ground game set up in the early states...

This Mitt flub could be very good for Ron paul!

fox has less than 1% of the population as viewers according to you which makes their reach limited according to you.

After all american idol gets more viewers than fox right?

now b/c they give a story airtime, repubs find it important?

LOL which one is it 240, do that have alot of sway or a little?

Not a smart thing to say, but not a big deal either.  He's not going to lose the nomination or the general over this.  It's a blip.

A Repub debate occurred.
A Repub told a lie (no surprise).
Another Repub called him out on it and challenged him to prove it.
It is/was a headline story on the Repub network and sites.

But "no one gives a fuck".    ::)

Out of touch bitch.

Sort of like looking at an ATM machine and blaming it for job losses?

On morning joe, 4 out of 5 of the talking weirdos said it wasn't a big deal.

I still think the other repubs will use it to show mitt as out of touch.

I guess we'll see.

Nonsense.  He's just your everyday, run of the mill, decamillinoaire career politician who is unemployed and likes high stakes gambling.

I didn't see anything about Obama being discussed here.

Instead of $10,000 Mitt should have said "If you are right I will drop out of this race, if you are wrong you will drop out.  Look on the bright side, at least you will have an excuse to quit instead of making some half ass loser speech on down the road because the party didn't give a shit about you anymore."
