Look - if by some miracle Paul gets the nod - he is going to have to pick a mainstream repub for veep - lets be real here.

I can just imagine the debates. Retards like Straw Man furiously beating their little peckers as their God-King throws out "focus group-tested" catch-phrases while the rest of us laugh as Paul destroys him on economics with hard knowledge.

Because he has to win the election and he will have to unite the GOP behind him.   Right now - the GOP is not united behind him at all.

If he wins the Republican nomination, he won't have to pick a mainstream veep. He'll already have the backing of the GOP. Besides, his strength is reaching out to independents and Democrats, not pandering to neoconservatives and war hawks. And he's never played by these political rules - why on Earth would he start now?

Very true.  I could see him going either way.  Maybe with somebody like Carl Person or maybe a mainstream candidate.

LOL...  This has been talked about at length here with detailed explanations.  You really don't get how Paul attracts independents and even dems or liberal leaning voters?

I'vebeen listening to foxradio all day.... beck, rush, hannity and levin.

it's quite the concerted effort to trash paul now.  EVERYONE is doing it.  talking about what a travesty it is that he can cumulatively collect these votes and possibly "Steal" the nomination from a "serious" canddiate.

what's up with that?

What the hell?  This is a direct contridiction to what you agreed with just a few days ago!

Ron Paul will not have to unite the GOP behind him.  They'll vote for him in a heartbeat over Obama.  They'll bank on controlling the things they don't like about him through congress.  Plus Paul will get 5 to 15% of the dem vote.  Instant loss for Obama and he's the only candidate that can do that.

just look at the amount of left leaning people on this board alone that would vote Paul.  Imagine that across the country to various degrees...

Some of this new positive news worries me that Ron supporters think they might have this one in the bag and sit back on their efforts. Hope that doesnt happen.

It's a little good news... Paul is still clearly behind and I doubt Paul supporters are going to relax at this point.  The great news is that he's getting some new supporters even those who don't like some of his policies.

I dont think soooo - I think this will be the first real "oh shit dude, we might really win this....' feeling.

Sure, we all like RP, but we always kinda knew he'd never top 9% in any state, right?

imagine him winning the fuck outta Iowa... think of the getbiggers.... Fury, 33, 240, ,Bindare, Hugo, etc... all celebrating at once.

i wouldn't care if ron paul was having anal sex with my grandmother, after drinking my merlot and wiping his ass on my curtains.

if he will cut spending and prevent a collapse of the dollar - then i'm cool with him.

It helps he doesn't stick his dick in other women for some voters like newt, it helps that he wasn't a full blown lib when it was convenient like Mitt.

but for me, the fact he is the only person in this race that will really cut spending - and everyone here knows it - makes him #1.

I think RP has a weird kind of chance

sort of the perfect storm

almost every other Repub candidate has been on top so maybe it's his turn and he'll slip into that role when it actually matters

RP seems to be consistent and authentic

RP v Obama would be an damn entertaining show

bill o reillay saying last night that IF Ron paul does well at Iowa - it's only because he's "overperforming".

LMFAO.... pathetic... the mainstream repub establishment, those who brought us mccain in 2008, are scared shitless of Ron Paul.
