I have a mother, sisters, and nieces I love dearly so it is hard for me to romanticize a time (1960’s) when women were treated like animals, blacks were just a cut above slaves, and gays and lesbians were demonized as pedophiles, but for what they were the Bond films were certainly entertaining. In one film, with a straight face, a character introduced herself with the line, “...my name is Pussy Galore.” Really.

Thank god the world has changed. And Bond has changed with it.
Check out this biography of Bond arch enemy Ernst Blofeld. At one point he is described as a body builder. “His physical stature is frequently changing, due to his obsession with changing identities. In the novels,
he was described as once a bodybuilder to which became nothing but fat towards his later years, even though he was still described as a tall, heavy man with a crew cut and dark pool eyes..."
