EPIC Mr. Putin

Putin visited factory at Tula and met with sum' workers.

"After a speech on the economy in the town, Viktor Zagaevsky (worker at factory) asked the Prime Minister to present him with something he would keep as a memory about the meeting. He added he had two sons, and one of them was a military sailor. Mr Putin seemed stunned by the unexpected request and gestured he actually had nothing to give. Yet he asked the metalworker what he wanted. The answer was, "Maybe your watch."

And the man got it

Of course watch was probably paid on government expenses but nice gesture IMO. Lucky dude.

Mr. Putin ain't socialist. Neither is Russia a socialist country.
Though Communist Party is again in rise in Russia - unfortunately.

During Putin's regime, Russia quickly became the country with second most billionaires in the world. Second only to USA.
Now China may have passed them for n:o 2 spot on this but compare the population... 140m in RF vs. over billion in China.

He 'ousted' few oligarchs who practically ran the country in the 90's. There comes his reputation for this.
He though wanted the government to keep majority in those huge oil and gas companies.
Privatization in general have been going on ever since Putin rose to power.

After rising Russian Federation on its feet, next big project for Putin seems to be The Eurasian Union, already dubbed as "The new USSR" by some.

Putin: I want Union.

Steps have already been taken. The creation of customs union between the three founder-states of the USSR is far already.

Medvedev recently invited the heads of these states to Kremlin for negotiations.
