Ron Paul, Mitt Romney - Virginia
« on: December 27, 2011, 05:59:30 PM »
Looks like these two will be the only ones on the Virginia ballot.

Very important state.  Super Tuesday primary.

Consequences anyone?

Sorry, Beach...I know you think I'm nucking futs for thinking RP still has a shot...but I've got stand by that and this is just one more instance of the completely different campaign he's running.

But....can he survive till March?

I'm not sure!

I think he can and I think he's going to take Romney in Va.

lol.  You're not crazy.  You at least look at the facts.

I don't think there is any way Ron Paul takes VA.  He's way behind in the VA polls.  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/va/virginia_republican_presidential_primary-1776.html

I doubt he picks up the Newt votes.  I'm not even convinced he will win Iowa.  He's going to be a one-hit wonder:  potentially good performance in Iowa and nothing after that.  Is he even competitive in any state outside of Iowa?  (Talking about poll numbers.)

In terms of the consequences, this could bury Newt, who was already sliding.

Yeah, much of what I'm thinking is him winning in Iowa.  The money situation will turn around over night, but NH is still in play and SC is a biggie.

Florida might be a contender, but they've been stripped of delegates so that's iffy.

Of course, Romney is the Golden Child so it's a tough call.

True.  This gives you an idea of where they are moneywise.  Paul is actually doing pretty good given his limitations.

He's received more campaign contributions from Wall Street banks and institutions than all of the GOP candidates combined.

So there's your answer.

If there isn't anyone else on the VA ballot to split the warmonger vote then guess who will win?

The fact is that most of the names in that poll won't be on the ballot when people have to vote.  It's either Mitt, or not Mitt.  It's that simple.

Its just Mitt and Paul now.

Not really.  Perry, Bachmann, and even Huntsman will fill that vacuum.

I never gave obama a chance because I knew his past and what he was going to do.   Its like letting a twice convicted Pedo who claims to be reformed alone with little children.  After the Pedo molests the kids - you have zero right to complain at that point.

Yeah, as long as Newt and the gang isn't there to split that vote from Mitt Romney, then Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance. The pro-America, "America First" crowd that goes for Ron Paul is too small to compete with the mainstream Republican pro-Israel, pro-Big Oil, pro-Military Industrial Complex, anti-America crowd.
