Was also released as game on XBOX 360, PS3, PC, Wii and various other consoles - pretty good shooter/action/adventure if you like that type of thing, I have played the game although I didnt finish it, but it was def playable.

Played it until the plane crash then just didn't have the patience to find my way out and sold it back to Gamestop!

there is nothing special about light, simply put once u have reached that speed, time has stopped for you. it is not a speed limit, it is a time limit, and it is an explanation of why is the speed of light the same for everyone no matter how fast u r going. so if u are going 100 mph, speed of sound is not c - 100mph, it is still c, because time for you has slowed down just a little bit
blah blah blah, no offense I know there is a lot of debate, and unfortunately you mentioned "TIME" and thats where it gets tricky

APPLY, Thanks ... that was stated well but I still got a question.

Why is the speed of light limited to 186,000 miles per second? What or whom set that max speed limit and what prevents it from speeding up? AND is the speed of light constant ... meaning does it 'JUMP OFF immediately from its source or does it take time to get up to speed?

And if you exceeded the spee of light, is there a formula that would disclose how far back in tiime you traveled based on the speed of your journey? Or do you not change in time at all, but all others not traveling with you sjmply progress through time faster or slower .... meaning that travelimg into the past is virtually impossible?

These and other seemingly non-sensible questions were topics of discussion at a symposium I attended a few years back .... and each was adressed very seriously.

There was no such thing as a 'dumb question' cause I kept my mouth shut and merely listened.

lol, einsteins explanation of the nature of light is very very simple

100 years before einstein maxwell hypothesized that the relative speed of light never changes, einstein took it seriously and said that this is because time slows down as you go closer to the speed of light, therefore always keeping the difference between your speed and the speed of light c. it stays constant, that was his whole idea. Not that the speed of light is constant, but that the difference between the speed at which u travel and the speed of light is always c, which is 670 million mph.

From this many other things came for instance that c, or c squared because when u calculate force u need to sqare the speed, c squared has to do with conversion of energy into mass, which is the equation e = mc sq

einstein is the one who said energy can turn into mass, this is why objects that go faster gain mass he said, the energy it takes to mae them go faster adds to their mass

see how simple it is, like I said so simple and elegant

the big difference between quantum mechanics and newtonion physics is that the nf was born in the human brain, atoms were first imagined and then discovered, atoms were understood through logic first, then they were experimented on and those ideas that were true were brought to the light and the false ideas were forgotten

quantum particles were found in tests, they were found to not make sense, you can't make sense of them, you first have to experiment and fromt here you form ideas

einstein was the last big genius who could figure things out, from now on it's about hadron colliders and dark matter and what not

the big thing if u really want to understand things, is that there is no actual speed of light, it is the speed of light relative to your speed that i always c

and when i say quantum mechanics dont make sense, i mean that two particles collide and the weight after the collision is heavier than the two particles weights combined together

as a kid I understood that simple physics is simply the average of quantum physics, meaning that on the micro scale things reappear and disappear randomly, but there so many particles doing this that when you have an object made of so many of them, like my hand for instance, things are basically consistent

for enough particles to misbehave on the quantum scale to make a difference in the real scale, is statistically impossible

im not sure about this, but i think what is really meant by "time slowing down" is that molecular processes slow down in relation to other molecular processes that arent going as fast. time itself doesnt actually slow down. and molecular processes wont go in reverse. you cant go back in time. once a second has gone by, its gone by. if your going at the speed of light, one second still takes one second. a second is defined by a second. if it was shorter- it wouldnt be a second. scientists are funny creatures.

speed of light is limited to c because that is the speed of electro magnetic waves, it's a math thing, i don't know it

you don't travel back in time as you get closer to c, time slows down for you so that it doesn't actually let you catch up, u can never go faster than light

if you want to ask a question that has to do with going faster than light and therefore going abck in time, you've broken out of the rules of einsein physics which is what states that time slows down at all

i'm not an expert on physics so the last thing could be wrong, einstein may have said aht u can travel back in time, but eisntein said a lot of nonsense

molecular process, lol, what is that

if ur going at speed of light, there is no second, the second has been stretched to infinite

edit: u can never go at the speed of light

u can go c faster than me, but light will still be c faster than you

How can people who have no mathematical/physical knowledge "discuss" quantum mechanics? ??? Personally, until I understand the maths behind a theory I don't even talk about it, it's pointless.

APPLY.. I enjoy trying to understand things that are a complete mystery to me such as this QM discussion, Blackjack Basic Strategy, all the odds in every roll of two die in the game of casino craps ,,,,, and have mastered them all (as well as a few others), but for some reason I still fail to comprehend QM and the vast majority of what Einestein had on his mind regarding relativity and exactly why the speed of light is the same no matter how fast I myself may be traveling.

And I gotta admit that I have read basic QM books many times over until the pages fell from the binding. but for some unknown reason I still find it interesting even though its mostly UN-UNDERSTANDABLE on my part, whereas you seem to have a good grasp on what it's all about.

SWBR, All I know about math is that 3+3 = 7, but some books on this subject are virtually "math-less"....  such as DANCING WU Li in the vast majority of its parts.

The author attempts to simplify most of it by drawing little pictures.

they say the faster you you travel the slower you will age

so if you take a trip through space going near the speed of light, come back to earth 20 years later having traveled non stop the whole time at that speed, you will be about the same age while everyone on earth will have aged and experienced 20 years of life.

molecular processes

but lets say your in a theoretical spaceship that travels at the speed of light

inside that space ship you count aloud= "1 one thousand, 2 one thousand" , while on earth maybe 10 years have gone by, for you a second has gone by, no more no less.

a second is a second.

time does not speed up or slow down.

lol, moleclar process, wtf is this guy talking about

listen, if time slows down then it slows down, wtf you are inventing new ideas in trying to understand old ones

you dont need to

theres no molecular process here, it is time that gets slowed down, not the molecular process, from the perpective of the molecule NOTHING CHANGES

there is no going near the speed of light, light is always going c faster than you no matter what, your skull is so thick no wonder u still wear diapers

molecular processes...lol

Einstein realized that the energy that mass has is a specific case of e=mv2. The velocity is c because that was the velocity mass was formed at.

Nobody understands QM yet. We have the math to make predictions, but not the why. I find entanglement the most fascinating aspect of it. When I try to philosophize as to why this could possibly happen, all I can think of is the 2 particles remaining connected in another dimension. Have any of you thought about it?

Time is relative to gravity. This means that the closer you are to a massive object the more effect time will have on your body. This has been confirmed using atomic clocks on earth matched to atomic clocks on space shuttles.  It is also possible to travel forward in "time", but not backwards. If a space ship could be built that could travel to a black hole, and circle it at the event horizon, the gravity from the massive black hole would "speed up" time for the people in the space ship. So for the astronauts, maybe 50 years will have passed from a trip to the black hole, circle it for a few years and return to earth, while on earth 500 years may have passed.

Interesting how Tbombz said a couple of months ago that advanced maths are completely useless for the 99% of the population but somehow, while he's lacking knowledge about advanced maths, he's able to explain quantum mechanics.  ???
