That's because all those "other" smartphones are copycat products. Just ask yourself why all of this "better" iPhone alternatives never existed before the iPhone. Ditto for all those iPad alternatives. All of them are "me too" products trying to jump on a bandwagon.

Apple could respray some shitty make of car in mock-aluminium grey and put apple logos on the doors and I guarantee that people would buy it and say stuff like "it's so simple and just works". They could charge more for it than other cars while simultaneously using less cutting edge parts and people would be happy to pay more for the "superior quality".

I am well aware of marketing and Apple fanatics. I am not one of them. But when I test a good product I'll use it if it's the best option.

sev, if you were happy with the Galaxy S. You can always upgrade now to the Samsung galaxy sII (4.5 inches) or go for the big daddy the Samsung galaxy note which is 5.3 inches... I believe both of them have a flash camera and both got great reviews.
