« on: January 12, 2012, 01:18:00 AM »
Have seen a new guy in the gym the last few weeks not huge but he s very strong and growls and shouts at the weights and his eyes go all red and that made him lift 250kg for 5 on the dead yesterday, i got talking to him turns out he spent his whole child hood in fear of a drunken father who amnogst other things used to tell him to go hang himself and now hes an angry man but gets it out in the weights room.

Very very depressed chap, telling me hes glad Christmas is over cos his Christmases as a kid were always his drunken dad screaming, smashing things and even threatening to kill himself. On Xmas day.

I wonder how people can destroy their own children like that.

Good for him that he uses his anger to lift, for many people weight training can be some form of therapy, whenever ive had to deal with bad points in my life the gym was always my refuge.

My mom, although not a drinker, was a non stop harpy/bitcher...Christmas Eve she would go non stop at the top of her voice for hours...Angry at the fact that my siblings estranged themselve from her and dad...I was a minor child unable to escape the same way my brother and sister had...And by the time I was no longer a minor...My parents had sabotaged things so that I would be financially unable to escape them.

That's because half the parents in this world has FUCK ALL business being a parent in the first place. Only because you found some whore willing to go bareback with you and willing to let you nut in there, doesn't mean you're remotely ready being a parent.

Yes, I'm a bit pissed too as my dad was the same, albeit not as bad as what the OP described, but it was more psychological with my dad. And then the weekend drinking. Even long after I moved out my sister used to tell me how he'd curse and abuse my mother. Yet my mother stayed. My sis tried committing suicide when she was 15 and all he said was. 'She's an attention seeking shithead'. That's his daughter he is talking about there ladies and gents.

Today my old man is touching 60 and extremely sorry. Too bad I say. I treat him like shit. I've spat in his face and dared him to do something about it. I think he's dirt, shit, vile animal shit. Sometimes we talk for the sake of my mother but I'm so short with him and ready to pounce if he utters so much as the wrong syllable. Yet he wants to fix things, he said so a 1000 times but it's too late. My brother knocked him spark out 9 years ago and haven't spoken to him since.

Anyway, my chicken and rice is burning.  :D

Christopher Langan is an American autodidact whose IQ was reported by 20/20 and other media sources to have been measured at between 195 and 210.  Billed by some media sources as "the smartest man in America",  he rose to prominence in 1999 while working as a bouncer on Long Island.

His father died or disappeared before he was born.  He began talking at six months, taught himself to read before he was four, and was repeatedly skipped ahead in school. But he grew up in poverty and says he was beaten by his stepfather from when he was almost six to when he was about fourteen.  By then Langan had begun weight training, and forcibly ended the abuse, throwing his stepfather out of the house and telling him never to return.

There is only one emotion in the gym and that's anger.  Every ounce of it directed at the weights and those weights must suffer in your meaty hands.
