Dr. refuses to put me on hrt after testosterone test
« on: January 12, 2012, 08:24:59 PM »
Had my testosterone test done a while back first test level came back at 228ng/dl , Second test came back at 388 which is in normal range in my dr.'s estimation , question is should I take the results to a small independent dr. and pay the $70 bucks initial examination fee in hopes that he will write me a script for some test-e or just save my money cause the likely hood of that happening is pretty low?

what's your free range at? that's what counts.

if you really want hrt there are "longevity clinics" that will do it for an obscene fee. only thing it's good for really is just being able to carry vials with you through airport security.

Not sure what free range was, his nurse called and said the second test came back within range and the dr. wasn't gonna prescribe me anything .. I was able to go on the website and print of both test and it just shows the ng/dl units with the levels.

How old are you?  Im 39 and my test was 294  free test 63 yet the free % was 2.1 and in range-these numbers would not convince a regular Dr to Rx test-but this is a HRT specialist and they give me 400mg biweekly-feeling better already and pumped-insurance covers it-if they didnt Id pay for it

well your test is normal why is he going to give you trt?  your test range is normal!  self medicate if you want higher test, they will only give it to you if you have low test.

he wants to buy his test as CVS legally, he isnt concerned about TRT... sometimes people dont understand logic and think the Drs are just as dumb, which often times they are. the OP should thank you!

Just go to another doctor. It is best to go to a urologist. If you live in Indiana I can hook you up. I have several buddies that got the same bullshit from their doctor. I sent them to my urologist and he put them all on watson cyp 200, 1/2 ml 2x a week. Here is how I approached it and had them approach it as well, go to a new doc and tell him you have been tired as hell, no drive, and it is effecting your job dramaticaly to where you are worried about losing it. Then save the best for last, tell him that your sex life with your wife, life partner or dog (whatever you are fucking) is non-existant and you love them and are probably going to lose them. That works every damn time. laugh if you want but it has been proven.
Now they will probably start you on a low dose, say 1/2 ml every 1-2 weeks. just take a 1/8 to 1/4 ml every 3 weeks and stop 2 weeks before going back in for more blood work. That will bump up your levels just a little to where they know you actually took it. Tell him you are not feeling it and it is still affecting your job and sex life. He will bump it up. It may take a few months but you will end up at the max that they will give you which is 1/2 ml 2x a week.
I don't claim to be gh15 or an elf but this should be in the bible. I have not heard of one time it has failed. I have had many, many board members try this. It is in your hands now. Keep me posted.

They measured it from blood test. Measures everything really. Yes I agree with the last post. Say you have no drive  weak and depressed  say you have zero sex life

He may also put you on androgel. It is crap. I used 2-3 tubes each week and it barely raised anything. I did not use it everyday because I wanted the inj test. You just have to be patient and work your way up to the max dose they will give you. One thing I did forget to mention is that they may want you to come in for injections. Tell them your wife or girlfriend is a RN or medic and they can do it. To go into the docs office to get these inj are a pain in the ass (literally) and costly.

my Dr took my levels while I was on TRT from a life extension clinic. I told him it would be a bad idea since ti was elevated but he insisted he could work with the numbers.

after the blood test came back in the high range he shit the bed and refused to work with me - so my insurance company got to see 'steroid abuse' traits in my bloodwork for nothing. Fucker.

After trying several docs and endos I ended up going back to the cash-only florida clinics. Not cheap but the alternative was getting silly.
