Holy fuck, what can I say about this fight? Brutal, brutal, brutal! They both came out swinging for the fences, and they both clocked each other several times. They stood up and banged, then Johnson took it to the ground, again and again. Up, down, up, down, up, down. Vitor's hand speed and reflexes are just insane, probably the best of any MMA fighter ever. That is good for him, because these are pretty much the only attributes that he has. But that is all he needs.

Vitor won becuse anthony knew his conditioning would suck and gave it his all for one minute which he was winning. And then ofc gassed. And would have won if he wasn't retarded and fucked up his weight and couldn't rehydrate. Im glad Anthony's fired.

Vitor needs a legit win before you start talking him up though, Which this wasn't. I think hes done. He wants a rematch with silva lol.

Vitor is way to quick he has way to much left for Wand I hate to say it. They should have Vitor should take on the winner of Chael Munoz for the number one contender.

happy for Vitor, hes always been my favorite fighters. Remember him whailing on Telligman till he got the ko, crazy hand speed but lacked wrestling and ground defense. Now hes evolved and has more experienced than most of the other guys in his class, would love to see another round with Anderson before they both retire, Vitor has more than what that fight showed.

I wouldn't go that far. Both fighters tend to get reckless when they are going in for the kill. All it takes is for Wandy to clip Vitor first. Wandy always has a punchers chance, especially against another striker.

Vitors power can ruin anyone, the Silva fight was odd in that he seemed apprehensive to engage and when he was standing there half assed Silva made a mockery of him. Vitor is one of my top 3 favourites, always has been since the 90's, but if he is half assed against him again the fight would end the very same way. He's probably 2 fights away from a title shot at most however looking at how Sonnen crushed power puncher Stann, Vitor would likely be dominated in the same fashion. He has never really used his ground game, and it really is there, but Sonnen is a different class altogether and would likely overwhelm him.

He Has nothing besides a great eye at seeing openings in his opponent's guard and devastatingly fast and powerful straight jabs which he uses to finish his opponents in short range. But this is all he needed to win 2 UFC belts and almost a third.

I really want to believe that Vitor could beat him but regardless of how quick he may still be, he's not the vitor of old. Rumble would have dismantled him if his cardio was half way decent after he landed the first punch on the ground, and Sonnen would dismantle a primed Rumble 9 times out of 10. Its not MMA math its simple truth.

The only comparison i made between Stann & Vitor is that theyre power hitters and Sonnen is not afraid to engage in order to control the fight. I really dont see a way of Vitor winning unless Sonnen got cocky and actually tried to box him. What he did to Linland & Franklin was terrifying but i dont think hes even that man anymore.

Vitor would annihilate Stann, but saying he'd destroy Sonnen is a little balsy IMO. From a skillset point of view I think yo are right, but from a realistic point of view, Belfort has been known to fold under pressure, and thats what Sonnen does best. Look for Vitor vs Couture..

Vitor's main weaknesses are his cardio and his chin. The best way to beat him is to stall the fight until the second or third round, at which point he is exhausted and can be finished easily. In the first round, Vitor is one of the 3 most dangerous fighters ever in any weight division. Also, one hit to the chin is all it takes to KO him. The guy crumbles to strikes.

The fighters who do the best against him are kickboxers who can utilize their knees and legs effectively to outrange him and KO him or take him to decisions, like Anderson Silva and Overeem. Wrestlers usually don't do that well against him because he has great TD defense and even if you get him there he has nasty jiu-jitsu. Remember that Vitor is a black belt under Carlson Gracie, and that actually means something unlike being a BJJ black belt under the Nogueira brothers.

Sonnen would have a hard time getting Vitor down and unlike with Anderson, I don't think Sonnen would be able to simply eat through Vitor's devastating jabs to get the TD. He would likely get KOd if he tried to do that. Anderson is a more talented striker than Vitor, but he does not have the devastating power with his fists that Vitor has. If Sonnnen takes Vitor down, he has to deal with a guy who has almost Werdum-like level of BJJ, and we all know that Sonnen's submission defenses are terrible.

Conclusion: Vitor wins by KO or TKO in the first round, or by submission in the second or third round.
