I thought he was the best candidate of them.  Him or Marco Rubio would make a great VP.

I liked what he did as governor for the most part, but he ran a lousy campaign.

Source: Jon Huntsman to drop out of presidential race
From Peter Hamby, CNN
updated 10:07 PM EST, Sun January 15, 2012

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (CNN) -- Republican candidate Jon Huntsman will drop out of the presidential race on Monday, a senior official with the former Utah governor's campaign told CNN.

He will endorse front-runner Mitt Romney, the source said.

Last week, Huntsman finished third in the New Hampshire primary, a state in which he had staked his entire campaign, finishing behind Romney and Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

The former governor and U.S. ambassador to China made headlines when he decided to take his campaign to compete in the South Carolina primary, where he was not expected to perform well.

An American Research Group poll released Friday showed Huntsman drawing the support of just 1% of likely GOP primary voters in the state.

Despite his low polling numbers, South Carolina's largest newspaper, The State, endorsed Huntsman on Sunday. The paper's editorial board praised what it called the "essential values that drive his candidacy: honor and old-fashioned decency and pragmatism."

Meanwhile, conservative GOP presidential hopefuls attacked Romney on Sunday to try to head off what two influential Republicans said could be a decisive third straight victory for the former Massachusetts governor.

Correct about being the one most prepared to beat Obama:

An aide to Huntsman confirmed the news to The Huffington Post and said the former governor of Utah would endorse Mitt Romney on Monday. The aide added that Huntsman "didn't want to stand in the way of the candidate most prepared to beat Obama and turn around the economy."

Huntsman to Romeny, "How can you fix the banks on Wall Street if you're the number one recipient of contributions from Wall Street?"

Good job backing the guy that is owned by the banksters Huntsman. Bravo. Thats a fine way of putting America first.

They all play for the same guy, the guy that lines their pockets, theyre no different from any of the other mainstream politicians. None of them are going to change a damn thing.
And the only one that might is, of course, being marked for death from every side. No one wants someone on the outside to take charge of their little operation or even be in a position to threaten them.

Sad, but true. Blue/red, doesnt really make a damn anymore... this is probably going to be another "lesser of 2 evils" election, just as it has been for the last 3 elections...
Youd think eventually people would get fed up with having to choose between 2 people they hate, but I guess the politicians rightfully figured out that people as a whole are dumb mother fuckers.

Did you like his support of the NDAA and the bailouts too? Any man that would basically call another man a corrupted insider for Wall street and then wind up supporting them is just as bad if not worse. We dont need another Goldman Sachs backed slick talker.

I don't think a Romney/Huntsman ticket would bode well for the Republican base. If you have a moderate heading the ticket, then you shouldn't have a moderate as VP.

Its very simple math 240.

Obama 2nd term = 100% chance of more debt, more bullshit, more treason, more solyndras, more keystone pipeline treason, more hideous pics to cabinet and SC, etc.

Romney = 50% - 50% chance.   He probably will suck, but he has a better possibility of succeeding than an Obama 2nd term does.
