It's true - it is all show muscle.
I'll be honest - as I'm getting older (will be 35 soon) I look around the gym and see guys that lift weights but also do cardio and hit the bag. They are not experts or elitists in their chosen fields of athletic endeavour but I bet you all the money I own that they could kick the shit out of me in a heartbeat. They are fit and they are functional. I may look reasonably big and I'm quite strong adn can eat shitloads of protein, but the resulting look is mainly all for show. I am not an "athlete" in the slightest and it may look "impressive" to a non-trained person in the street but I am useless when it comes to everything else. I have no stamina and in the long term my health will start to suffer for it if I don't get off my arse and do something about it soon. I wouldn't say I'm insecure (yet) but I will get worse if I hold off on getting fitter.

Way to overcomplicate things, it isn't hard t punch someone in the head, some fights dont last long, I once dropped two guys all in the matter of about 10 secs, then slapped one of them awake, so I didnt lose my job - they were workmates, and a Friday night afterhours bash got a little crazy - so I sorted it, but immediately felt guilty about it and apologised to the guys - I ended up working there for another two years, we became friends after that.
