Patriots-Giants: EPIC...on paper
« on: January 22, 2012, 07:51:19 PM »

Patriots opening as a 3.5-point favorite.  Needless to say, I'm taking the Giants and the points and got a future bet on them to win it all, too.

It's been a great playoff run for me, but I think there's more in the tank.   :D

I expect that line to be down to 3 by Tuesday, so get in now if you can.

1) The Patriots don't have nearly the running attack that the 49ers do

2) The Patriots don't have nearly the pass rush or defensive secondary that the 49ers do

The one thing the Patriots do have going in their favor, however, is the Giants' play-calling, which was abysmal today.

tough one to call.  pats by 10.  i can't stand Brady, but that offense is so damn good.  With 2 weeks to prepare, giants lose momentum and pats just come in more prepared than ever.

coach harbough seems like a prick.

slapped that other coach earlier in the season.  barely shook other coache's hand today.  caught on video shoving and hitting his own asst coash in the chest during 4th quarter.

and didn't bother doing his scheduled convo with FOX after the loss, they noted.

Giants play calling has been abysmal for some time.  Gilbride sucks.

Kareem MacKenzie is way to old on the o-line and gets beaten continuously by different teams d ends.  They need to replace him at the end of the season or just get Beatty healthy.

It's almost as if down and distance and game situation don't have any role in the play calls. They're like the Raiders only with superior skill players.

Thanks, I needed some luck today, but felt going in that the Giants were the better team, even in crappy weather. What I didn't expect was that they'd let Vernon get behind them twice.

The big lines in Green Bay last week and NE this week made it easy (my opinion), but there won't be anything higher until we get the live bets going in the SB. I have faith in the G-Men to stay within an FG, though.

giants will win outright. cruz/manningham/nicks will expose the 31st ranked secondary in the league for the joke it is.

at all positions on both sides of the ball other than quarterback the giants are better.

bradshaw and jacobs will put up good numbers early on. force NE to stack 7-8 in the box against the run, and the giants will start to run PA and spread the NE backfield with those recievers. that NE secondary is going to have nightmares. ffs balitmore should have beat them, and the giants have way more ability to generate offense than the ravens, and stack up equally as well as the ravens did on the defensive side of the ball.

i cant see the giants not winning the superbowel.

Pats by 17. Indoors and Brady coming off a very bad game is money in the bank...Eli will hold his own, but the Pats will put up over 40.

The Giants victory 4 years ago ruined a perfect season for the Patriots. That victory is far greater than any potential Giant Superbowl victory this year. Patriot fans must have been devestated for weeks after that loss.

Gronk was out there later in the game.  With two weeks off, he will be fine.

I'm still devestated 4 years later. Winning will avenge it some. Losing again and I wouldn't recover...Losing is not an option.

the Patriots scare the shit out of me. Gronkowski is just unstoppable and if they try to stop him, then welker will just tear them up. I did gain some confidence though by seeing the ravens do a good job defensively on them. the SB needs to come back to NY where it belongs

It was just a twisted ankle.  He'll be good to go in 2 weeks.

Excellent.  In fact, I think the Giants have the potential to do to NE what they did to Green Bay last week.

I called the Giants beating the Packers on this board before it happened and caught shit for it.  I immediately followed it up by calling a Giants-Pats rematch.

This game is going to be good.  When Tom Brady is diving for touchdowns and taking spear tackels to the spine from Ray Lewis, it becomes clear that he is on a fucking mission.  He also has a vendetta against the Giants and wants that monkey off his back.

However, the Giants will win.  The Giants D will come hyped up with an aggressive package that puts relentless pressure on Brady.  They aren't going to give up the run either like they did a bit with San Fran, although I expect Green-Ellis to do fairly well.  If Eli plays well (which he will) and guys like Nicks and Cruz keep playing like they are some of the best receivers in the league (Nicks in my opinion has the potential to be and Cruz is the second coming of Wes Welker with more talent), the Giants will win this one.

27-24 Giants win.

This definitely needs to be kept in mind.  Just look at the fuckin guy.  He looks like a damn fable creature with hands that practically wrap around the football.  He's massive with insane athleticism.

Already designed to let NE win.  BOB KRAFT is credited for working hard to end the NFL holdout while his wife was dying.  This is the NFL's gift to him for his help.

It was already determined to give NE the win.
