It may not be the "end all, be all stat" but it still carries a good amount of weight when discussing a players greatness, that almost goes without saying.

That's absolutely not true. You can't base it solely on yards per carry

Look at Felix Jones vs. Darren McFadden at the University of Arkansas.

Felix Jones averaged 8.7 yards per carry while Darren McFadden averaged 5.6 in 2007.

A THREE yards per carry average more and next to NOBODY would argue that Felix Jones was the better running back then or now!

Yes, yards per carry is a decent measurement in addition to other stats but when you throw out these strong words like ALWAYS it really hurts your argument.

 I didn't watch those two guys play but unless there was a specific reason why Felix had so much success other than pure talent then the numbers don't lie.  I assume they played vs. The same defenses, and had the same offensive line to work with.
