Freeganism or dumpster diving? Food is so expensive now
« on: January 24, 2012, 11:18:19 AM »
i swear food prices are getting fucking ridiculous these days. 70 odd fucking quid on groceries this week  >:(

if i lived in a bigger city. london for example. i'd have no problem rooting through bins for my fucking food. and i'm not talking scraps either. some quality food gets thrown every day. the waste is obscene, yet the kunts keep on hiking up those bastard prices.

no, seriously. i've seen a programme on this and it showed a rather posh (expensive) deli in london, having to throw perfectly good food away because of the sell by dates. sandwiches and ready made salads packed in fancy containers, costing up to £10  ::)

i mean its stuff only a mug would buy, but perfectly good, fressh eating when its for nowt.

I think it's good that they use these resources that would obviously be wasted without merit.
I was shocked when I saw what goods are disposed off at bakeries... trucksloads of bread... which is often not older than an hour.

Yes - trucksloads!  :D

My neighbour gets a wheelbarrow a day from the local baker, for his animals....

I have seen supermarket owners purposely urinate over their trash as to keep the homeless from picking up their next meal.

True Story.

There was a documentary on Dutch tv just lately about how much food is thrown away in Holland and in the Western world in general. Really more than enough to feed every single person in the 3rd world. This is really disgusting.

you are NOT allowed to pour anti freeze on your garbage.

it will look, taste and smell sweet, but people and animals will eat it and die.
