just because someone can see your ip doesnt mean thats your ip most modern internet connects have a dynamic ip any way. Plus there are a million ways to hide your ip easy and cheap. Even if you had a static ip its still not a easy thing to track someone down even if you had a lot of resources. You would have to do some real serious shit to be tracked by ip alone

It doesn't matter who has your ip, it belongs to a carrier. The carrier would have to be subpoena in order to release customer information.

The day when people start showing up at peoples home across the globe by simply having an ip address will be the Day the internet will be for businesses and educational resources only....not public.
