Yeah, what is the reason why she is in color when you look away?  That is pretty cool.  One of the PHd's on getbig should explain, that is, if they're not too busy banging their supermodel girlfriend, or benching 600lbs.

Probably something to with the red,blue and green dots on her nose,with them being primary and secondary colours,and once you look away your eyes filter the colours onto the image.Maybe.

It readjust your eyes, to a new set of normal, your brain is still in that mindset when you look away. Your brain actively creates an image when you blink it sets your brain in overdrive and it tries to fill in the gaps.

I know I'm doing a shit job of explaining it, but your brain is more part  you than your on contiousness.

I.E. you see feel and think exactly what your brain gives you. Your ego or regular level of thought simply filters through what the different parts of the brain give you.

Not a doctor just yet... but in layman's terms--both guys above are on the right track--- we have broadly tuned sensory neurons...  where focusing in on just objects around nose--- our brain is prgrammed to filling in these "gaps" --really not as much of distinction btw the right n left hemisphere of the brain--as most of us have been taught to believe--- there are more complex synapses of these neurons--beyond what we think--and in many cases--- differential to each individual-- emotion and memories can be attached to visual arrangement
