A buddy of mine fell like that one night doing squats.  Wasn't doing anything stupid but he just fell straight back, can't believe he didn't break his neck.

I've staggered a couple times when I thought the weight would feel heavier than it did. But never when I struggled like this guy did, usually because the weight came up faster than I thought.

He was hitching(dragging up / supporting the bar up on his thighs) the lift so bad, that the back bend caused him to lose it in that way.

A legit loss like that happens as Chaos mentioned, where your bottom postion pull is so strong and fast that it throws you off balance. Usually you can just drop it and back peddle a bit.


Must admit I was rooting for him.

Ever notice how a lot of these guys in these vids fumble around with the straps for minutes at a time sometimes ?

I can put on a pair blindfolded using one hand only and I don`t just wrap them around the bar,I twist them so they are tight.

What a fucking bunch of noobs....when you start hitching a deadlift,you should stop before you get hurt, and if you do get it up while hitching,it means jackshit anyway......kinda` like a 1/4 squat with 700 pounds and calling it ass to the grass!
