No thanks.   :-\  I'll stick to conventional weight training.  This looks so dangerous and stupid. 

Unfortunately bigger mainstream gyms will become less and less about about conventional weight training and more about dancing like it's a nightclub between sets of cable crossovers, cagefighter shadowboxing by the water fountain, anti-social weirdos giving out Charles Manson death stares to each other and this "stabilizer muscle" nonsense.

Seriously: you're not training muscles on a ball, you're training your nervous system to balance. Which is ok if you want great balance standing on a ball, but I prefer big muscles.

This is why I had to go the home gym route. Example: dude doing d.bell tricep kick backs on that half flat side half ball (whatever the fuck its called), The guy doing orangutan aerobics on the cable crossover machine, the worst for me are the monster(135lb) deadlifters screaming slamming the weight, which is cool as long as you can handle the weight. Watching their backs completely round as the kid struggles to get 315 up for one rep.

Someone needs to try deadlifting on one of those balls. Can you imagine the stabilizer muscle development one could achieve ;D

In many cases the fiber recruitment is higher on stabilizing exercises. That's an important rationale behind free weight v.s. machine training.

Also agreed, you would prob focus too much on your hip stabilizers instead of your quads. This evening I did some single leg presses, since I have some lower back problems.

Actually learning to use stabilizing muscles etc. is very good (kill me wes), only the execution in this case is pretty retarded. Here you have the snatch, a great exercise that requires strength, speed, flexibility and balance. Basically anything you can train except for stamina. And yet these FUCKTARDS think it's an improvement to do it on a fucking ball instead of mastering the technique properly.  ;D
