I always lol @ guys who post here that if certain pro used different form, intensity, rep ranges, or different exercises for certain bodyparts they would have built a better physique!

I guess if they only had the average getbig gym-rat to advise them how to work out who knows how much better pro physiques would be  ::)

why does it matter how the quarter back for the patriotss tackle
or how brazil plays football.... or how overeem fights
.... it doesnt matter per-say but we are fans giving our opinion....
if you dont have one... dont comment ...simple
relax
...
i still stand by what i say wolf is a fucking lazy trainer....

Very poor example / logic.  The football field or the octagon is where the athlete performs, showing the result of their training.  That's analogous to the bodybuilder's stage, not the gym.  i.e. criticisms of how bodybuilders work out is analogous to criticizing how overeem spars or works out to get in shape for a fight.  Hardly any MMA fan will do this.  Discussing how brazil plays fotball is analogous to discussing how the bodybuilder holds certain poses, not how they work out when at home or their intensity, form, etc. in the gym.

We could all arrive at pretty much the same conclusions you do. I could look at a video of Flex and after careful analysis say that he's 'lazier' than average.

But I don't. Why? Because I don't give two shits and even if I did it would be pathetic to suggest that I hold the key to their greater success. If only they knew  ::)

Why do you care about the way they train? You obviously had enough incentive to make this thread and that's saying a lot so don't deny it. You don't merely analyze, you also give a shit. Why?

I say cephissus analysis was pretty much dead on. I also used to somewhat care about this stuff(when I was 19)... how the pro's look, who lifts more weight, who's going to win the O, does Jay inject synthol etcetc. But once you get something else to focus on in life(education perhaps?) then bodybuilding is of marginal interest.. ESPECIALLY how they train, rofl!

I obviously didn't set out to say that you don't have a right to you own opinion which is none of my business anyway... but I'm just curious why a grown man would start a thread calling out a professional bodybuilder on the intensity he lifts with  ::)

you obviously didn't understand what I said.  Nowhere did I say pro bb's are above critique.  I said how they train for their competition day (analogous to however a football player chosesto train/practice before their season or in between games) is often not cared about enough to critique.

Many, many people have commented on Ronnie doing deadlifts with 805 multiple times. It's not something he just did "for the camera". You don't fake intensity like that.

agreed. thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

how you train is far less important than how many drugs you take

for the time being, but it seems the guys with powerlifting backgrounds and who have trained everyday regardless, keep alot of their size into their older years.

training is the most important thing but as long as you are going to failure or beyond, it doesn't matter how much weight is on the bar. i believe the haney approach is the best way, all the benefits of going heavy without getting injuries

what I dont get is how do these guys you guys have energy to even train hard? I feel like shit on cycle, lethragic as all hell no way I could train until failure day in and day out. I mean maybe it's necessary past a certain point, but in order to get  a good solid build is easily attainable without training hard assuming your on drugs. Steroids make your body more sensitive to weight training anyways

Dorian said himself that back in the day, if he could've brought Flex back to England and trained him for a whole year, that Flex could've been Mr O.  I don't believe Dorian meant that he was going to work miracles on Flex's physique.  Just that he could've provided that little bit extra (physically and most of all mentally) with his training to get him over that hump.  Who here would tell Dorian in his face "BS" regarding his own workout intensity and that it wasn't necessary for his success?  Yes, drugs are a HUGE factor in upper-echelon bodybuilding.  But I'm pretty sure there's much more to it than that.

Haney's back was built with 185-225 pound barbell rows.....no ego training.

These guys today couldn't carry Lee's jock strap. IMHO

Training in the gym wearing only socks on your feet is really stupid.
What would you know about it, scumbag?

Deadlifting in socks or flat shoes is nothing new.

I`m sure he took off his shoes just to deadlift, then put them back on after he was done and moved on to the resat of his workout.

Years ago, lots of powerlifters pulled in their stocking feet or wore gymnastic shoes/slippers.

taking shoes off for deadlifts is the final desperate act of reducing range of motion
