this is like arguing structural engineering is superior to architecture
both appear to be practicing in the same general area though each come from a different perspective and each blames eachother when projects go wrong

as you can see by the video quality of their most cherished records, it's unlikely any powerlifters have discovered post-VHS technology

sadly, i therefore believe there is no pling equivalent to getbig

seriously that doesnt make any sense, most bodybuilders have a face only a mother could love

branch warren

kai greene

lionel beyeke

dexter jackson

markus ruhl

dennis wolf

robert burneika

layne norton

No, my point was that you can be a well-built bodybuilder and still look good. Maybe not olympia size but a few notches below. Powerlifters are all fat and bloated so they lose their good looks if they had them to begin with

jesus that benching is fucking insane. wonder what drugs those fellas are on to get to that stage. I agree though, Bodybuilding is fucking boring if you are natural. There is not alot of hope unless you want to become a drug addict to get to the top. Strength training is much more fun and technical than dieting and taking drugs to look good.

architects are always the one to blame, no building would ever be able to be built without the go ahead of a structural engineer. some of the designs architects come up with are structurally unfeasible, lmao.

and yes structural engineering is superior to architecture

I began as a competitive bodybuilder but gradually moved towards powerlifting and pure strength training as the years rolled on. I'll always love bodybuilding (and consider what I now do to still be a form of body-building, of course) but must state that with each passing year I view competitive physique shows more and more as bizarre, from a powerlifter's perspective. They're like beauty pageants with muscles.

One of the reasons I stopped competing as a bodybuilder is because I found after lifting like a demon for months in preparation ... the actual contest day was a huge letdown. Besides being winded like fuck (which you get), there's nothing athletic when one is actually, you know, competing. Heck, I just wanted to get back into the gym so I could squat, press and hoist again. Tanning, waxing, oiling ... horseshit.

I always preferred offseason appearances better, anyway (and way more preferred a well-built powerlifter's build), so my move to powerlifting made sense from this perspective, as well.

When you're in the heart of obsession with bodybuilding, you don't really see it for how it appears.

and without beauty...

when i see a guy bench press like that video at the top of the page 1 it's just like HOLY FUCKKKKKK and suddenly bodybuilding doesnt look as impressive

that guy actually tried to get into contest shape a few years back. Obviously he'd read Danta's posts about how superheavyweight powerlifters have superior 'ponderal density' to bodybuilders and was expecting to look good after dropping 400lbs.

he didn't

That video shows what a joke powerlifting has become. In Olympic lifting you lift the bar over head or you don't.  Powerlifting with all their cheat gear clothing and shallow little knee bend squats are pathetic. I wonder if he is capable of doing a 600lbs real squat.  It's almost like the guy who loads a million plates on the leg press and does little shallow range of motion presses.

Why even bother training...endless curls or a ridiculous sqaut. I guess its all fine until people compare the two...the gym is the only thing in common.
