Uh-oh, It’s Morning in America

Nobody does hissy fits like Karl Rove; the master of hardball, dirty-trick politics is constantly outraged, outraged, at his opponents’ underhanded tactics. And the latest hissy-target is the Chrysler ad during the Super Bowl, starring Clint Eastwood.

Jon Cohn gets it: it’s actually a double-edged problem for the Republicans. They hate any reminder that they were dead wrong on the auto bailout; and they hate any thought that the Democrats are becoming the party of optimism. Hey, only Republicans are allowed to celebrate American success!

And behind the yelling lies, almost surely, a growing sense of panic:

"TOP 12" reasons to vote Democrat -

1. I vote Democrat because I believe that the oil companies' profits of 4% on a
gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas
at 43% isn't.

2. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better
job of spending the money I earn than I would.

3. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody
is offended by it.

4. I vote Democrat  because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and
I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and
thieves.

5. I vote Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if
it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in
ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

6. I vote Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies
being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

7. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free
health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

8. I vote Democrat because I believe that business should not be
allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest
away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see  fit.

9. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need  to rewrite the
Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get
their agendas past the voters.

10. I vote Democrat  because I think that it's better to pay billions to
people who hate us for their oil, but not drill our own because it might
upset some endangered beetle or gopher.

11. I vote Democrat because while we live in the  greatest, most
wonderful country in the world, I was promised "HOPE AND  CHANGE".

12. I vote Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my rear
end; it's unlikely that I'll ever have a rational point of  view.

Agree Benny (cant believe I said that), Rove is bitching about something that had NOTHING to do with politics at all, the city has hope now like someone else said, I got NO politicial reference out of that commercial.

Rove is being a bitch.  :-\

Very similar to Reagan's 'Morning in America' ad that helped him win re-election in '84, I thought.

My understanding of economics is that you don't keep on borrowing and stealing at higher and higher interest rates to pay back existing loans. This is economics commonsense. Fuck!

I fully believe he'll get re-elected because of the overwhelming freeloading dumbfucks we have that will fall for his bullshit once again (see benny). But like all liars and frauds in the long run they will get even more exposed than what he already is.

Why do you live in America if you don't like democracy? Hey, I don't like it much either but I don't whine about it this much. I suggest you move to a dictatorship you like and live there happily under one official truth.

LOL...About 20 years ago you would see maybe 3 or 4 of those things TOTAL at Walmart and only the people who really need them like the crippled would use them.

Fast forward to this day and those stores resemble an electrical cart convention, with lazy fucks on every god damn aisle trying to navigate past each other like it's the I-10 Freeway.

I need that cart because "my feet hurt"  ::)

Exactly. I guarantee that old boy could cook his ass off. I doubt he gives two shits about weight and the fact it will send him to an early grave either; he lives for food.
