This does make Obama look bad, but let's face it, the economy was pretty shitty under Bush. Overspending, large budget deficits, a growing national debt, and war all have negative economic effects. Had he just focused on slowing the growth of government, he could have cut taxes and balanced the budget while making the economy stronger. But instead he went the Nixon route of spending on both "guns and butter."
