its not a swastika (Nazi or Sanskrit), star of David, Tricolour, Red Crescent, pride, freedom or UN flag etc
its an SS (Schutzstaffel) flag.
Sombody intentionally hung that immediatly next to the Stars and Stripes. Ten US Marine Soldiers intentionally posed in front of both flags while bearing arms, in uniform and wearing shades
The resulting fuss may be out of proportion to the immediate event but
at least ten marines are guilty of either naïvety or stupidity (or maybe even both?).
Pity the Military inspector that had to decide either of the above

My point was that it was more than likely an innocent mistake.
Its probably more of naivety than anything.
And you never know the whole deal behind the story - such as in the past, military units have captured such things in possesion by the enemy - and have taken pics with it.
I dont know the whole story - and neither does anyone else, nor will anyone else ever probably know the TRUE story.
My point is - its being blown way out of proportion - these Marines arent throwing up the bladed Hitler salute, theyre not invoking anything Nazi - the only thing their is a flag with a logo thats either the same or highly similar to a german military unit that operated under the Nazi regime - with the same initials as their unit.
In all probability, they simply posed with it because it had the Scout Sniper initials in it, the picture was probably meant for themselves and not for everyone else to get ahold of. Clearly theyre not trying to invoke parallels between themselves and the Nazi regime.
