Buying whey in toronto
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:44:16 AM »
Hi guys

I just moved to Toronto last week. Where is a good place to buy whey protein in Toronto. Obvious choice would be GNC but are there other good and cheaper online stores etc where I can buy from?

How about ephedrine? Is it legal in Canada?

Is the gnu gold card worth getting?
Thanks

I'm in Toronto as well and the best prices are online. Only time to buy supplements at the store is if you need something asap. Here are sites that I use:

For protein - i have been ordering from those two for the past 10 years. As of late last year Canadaprotein has even better pricing, if you are willing to buy 25 or 50lb at a time.

For ephedrine - those two work out pretty well if you pick up 10+ bottles at a time.

Gold's gym opening up this summer @Keele/Highway 7. Virtual tours started a few weeks back. Have a talk with Don or/and Ed for specials.

Re ephedrine. Is it legal here? Do the supplement stores sell them or is only available though other products like bronkaid? Is bronkaid available here? A pharmacist I asked was unfamiliar with the brand.

To Randy - I'm in the city. Haven't gotten a car yet so I'll probably get something in the city.  I heard good life and extreme fitness tend to rip off people.

If you are in the city - check out there store in person on Wellesley off of Yonge Street subway line - it's right across MuscleMag. Not sure if the latter still around, as i often buy ONLY online.

I go to a independent gym in the city (travel from up north), now they are a rarity. That's the way i will likely keep it - as long as it keeps on kicking, even if i get a plan elsewhere for flexibility.

"Rip off" - The franchises tend to be like that. However, from time to time you can get in on great promotions + get written quotes from their competitors and present it in person - you'll save a buck or two. I pay around $600 a year, that's about average i believe & cheap relative to the only other place i've been too. As a student under age 25, i used to pay $95mth at Mayfair Racquet and Fitness clubs. It goes to over $150 over 25. Furthermore, with so many corporate or/and franchisee gyms popping up everywhere - they all want as many bodies in as possible to avoid Bally's fate.

Furthermore, good thing about the franchises is that you can train at any one of them, as most of them are on the subway or the bus lines - especially long the Yonge line. Also take a look at LA Fitness, they got a few around the city and in the west end & are well renowned. They are even finally starting to pop up north.

you really should try canadianprotein.com. Their blend of 50% iso 50% concentrate goes for about $45 for 5lbs, mixes and tastes real good.
Ive never heard of canadianprotein.com before, but its been mentioned a few times in this thread. are they easy to deal with? Do you receive your order in a reasonable amount of time and are shipping costs reasonable? thanks!

$47 + tax & shipping... and no guaranty or legal requirement for it to really be 50-50....

^^^ The shipping is free over $99 and about the quality... With such a mind frame then anything can be said to say what you did... I've used 100% concentrate, did not go down well, used this stuff and it does so...

Right now due to expansion, (got the mail today) orders are taking a bit longer to proceed...

Yes, very reasonably priced. Bought in bulk nobody can beat their price.
