Court fines unrepentant Queen moonerA MAN who mooned the Queen during her recent visit to Brisbane says
he would do the same if US President Barack Obama visited Australia.Liam Lloyd Warriner, 22, was fined $750 in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today for flashing his buttocks at the 85-year-old monarch as she toured the Queensland capital in October last year.
He pleaded guilty to one count of public nuisance. A second charge of wilful exposure was formally dropped by police prior to his sentence.
The court heard Warriner, a barman from the Sydney suburb of Ashfield, flashed the Queen as her motorcade travelled down Kingsford Smith Drive in Eagle Farm.
He dropped his trousers and ran alongside the motorcade for 50 metres with an Australian flag clasped between his buttock cheeks.
The court heard he told police he did it as a political protest to show his contempt for the Queen and elitist groups.
Outside court Warriner, who described the media as "evil" and encouraged the Occupy movement to "rock on", said he would do the same if Mr Obama visited.
"Any self-important, self-propagating elitist, I will happily bare my buttocks to," he said.
His lawyer John-Paul Mould described the mooning as "low level stuff".
Police prosecutors, however, asked for the maximum $1000 fine.
Magistrate Anne Thacker berated Warriner for disrupting the proceedings.
"This is a civil society and when a lot of people gather in one place the grouping means there is a vulnerable position if even one person like yourself doesn't behave in a civil manner," she said.
No conviction was recorded against Warriner.
