To answer a person's question. Chances are it's because they focused on "getting huge", and the detail and mind muscle connection that is needed to develop a detailed back was put "to the back" so to speak.

Probably.
Probably thought like so many gym rats on here, that back wasnt as important on arms/chest/front, so on days they had to make sacrifices and choose which bodypart, they always left out back.
Still looks 1000000x better than Nasshole IMHO.

I remember reading about him having some lifelong rotator cuff issues, so he couldn't train his back properly in FLEX Magazine© 7, 8 years ago.

that was bullshit, pure bullshit.....but he had the strenght to do every other upper body exercise with a bad rotator cuff, except for back exercise?......
